How I’d handle things going forward.

There is no way they are letting Manny suffer through a possible 3-4 win season for those who think he wont get canned midseason. BOT and admins know there would be a hitman looking for him under those circumstances. Locally he would be made a public enemy. Not worth the bad press and local backlash just to save a few buyout dollars.

OP, I like most of the points. Who do you name interim HC is the biggest problem because it has to be someone who knows they dont have a shot in **** at being the new HC no matter how well the kids play for him the rest of the schedule. Thats why it cant be Lashlee. That idiot might think he should have a shot at the HC gig if he happens to luck into a few wins the rest of the way. So I agree it has to be T-Rob or Jess Simpson.

I also agree that once we have been officially removed from bowl game contention (which could be by end of Oct) we should go with the youth movement and start letting the older guys know that its over and to either get ready for the draft, start drafting paperwork to see if the new HC will let them stay for a 6th year, or just graduate and get ready for your next phase in life. Either way, the 2021 season is over for them.

This is how’d I’d handle it.

I do think it’s possible he gets fired during the season. And all this huge drop in the buyout is bs. The buyout is nowhere what people think.

Not only that, but the drop in anyone's buyout is "January". Not some mythical date in between "when everyone knows it should be done" and "when the team is out of contention for the conference title".

Anyone who thinks that Miami is waiting until January 2022 TO FIRE MANNY is just nuts.

Golden, Richt, Diaz. These are symptoms, not the statistical root.

Blake James has no leadership quality. No vision. No pragmatism. Only a people pleaser who waits until the fans complain. He is the single causality that links the three together. It doesn't matter who they hire until we get a shark in the A.D. position.

Here we’re again, on the verge of another corch getting his public execution. The administration has made this into an every 3-5 year celebration. I figured it would be a good time to post what i‘d do if I were in charge.

If you‘ve followed my posts the last couple weeks I’ve stated it’s a “ when not if” situation. So this is how i‘d do it if I’m the administration ( or anyone with sense).

1. Fire Manny this week, it’s a bye week and theres no better time. The environment is toxic and at this point he’s laying on the ground hemorrhaging In front of everyone. Plus it would give you more time to adjust to the upheaval.

2. Make T Rob the Interim head coach , the players like him and would play hard for him. The season still has something left to play for and we haven’t been eliminated from the coarstal. I think it would give guys a shot of juice. Plus imo there’s a chance he’d return here if the staff wanted him.

3. Simpson to dc , no better time than the present to see what he brings to the table as a dc. Maybe he simplifies things and we can get away from the cute stuff. It seems like the obvious choice.

4. Hand the team over to the kids , from qb on down. It’s time to start preparing for the ‘22 season. We already know what we have with the veterans. Now let’s see what the youngsters have. Imo it would be another shot of energy to a team that needs it. More competition is always a good thing and pt is always the best motivator.

5. Blake has to be fired or reassigned. I know I sound like a broken record with this but if there’s not drastic changes in the athletic department and the attitude of the program we’ll be right back here in a 3-5 years.
It’ll just be more proof the program is living in a state of insanity and will never get out.

The good news is we’ll know pretty fast , it’ll be obvious.
Gotta say I don't agree with much of this. Here is what I would do and in fact what I believe Miami will do.

1- Move Blake into a fundraising role immediately and hand the AD role over to someone that will make a national splash from a diversity standpoint. Jen Strawley would be the obvious choice. A female AD at a school like Miami would really set the tone for where Miami is headed and how we can change college sports for the better.

2-Learn from past mistakes. You can't just take a coordinator and promote them. Coker, Randy, and now Manny have all failed. You know who didn't fail? Larry Scott TE coach who took the reigns after Golden was fired. They came out and won a battle against Duke- truly inspirational performance. So I would think a smart AD like Jen Strawley would identify Jonathan Patke as the up and coming talent on this staff. He coached the Groza award winner last year- say no more. Patke is the hire. We need to make sure the recruiting class and the state of Florida see we are committed to Patke so I recommend we put him in place with a 7 year contract and we structure it like the one Mark Stoops has. Any season Patke leads us to 7 wins or better gets him an additional year added to the contract.

3-Patke has known these kids on the roster their entire career, he has sound relationships. Set a new depth chart. Base it on seniority exclusively. That said also make it known that all scholarship athletes will get an equal number of snaps. Everyone gets a chance.

Follow these basic principles and Miami will be back on track in no time.

I’m sensing sarcasm.

It’s bigger than Blake and Manny, thats the point I always try to stress.

I think OP was strictly talking about what to do the next 60 days of the season. Firing Blake is obviously what we want postseason but I have never heard of an AD and HC being fired midseason before. That said, firing Blake would have to be immediately after the final whistle of the last game because we cant hire a premier coach unless we have an AD. So you better already have your pick lined up and ready to go before you fire Blake.

100% agree. It should happen now. It might just be an obvious assumption they’re making but if what is getting thrown around by Barry and Feldman that he “needs to be embarrassed” to lose his job in season… if that’s true I can’t believe that’s where we’re at instead of doing it at the obvious time… when we can get acclimated to try to avoid further embarrassment
Losing at home to Va he should have been embarrassed

Thank you for your post. Unfortunately, if he hasn’t gotten fired by now, he’s not getting fired either this or next week. If he does get fired, it will be if North Carolina takes us out back and tosses us around like a midget at a gangbang.

Haven't we seen Manny and his teams get embarrassed enough?

- losing to a 3 win GT team at home
- losing to FIU
- Losing and getting SHUT OUT to Louisiana Tech
- 700 rushing yards to UNC with the Coastal on the line
- Getting blown out at home by Michigan State
- Getting called out on Gameday
- Celebrating while losing by 30+ points

I can go on and on. Enough is enough.
Completely agree. They’re looking for a lopsided loss this year for whatever reason as if we haven’t seen enough

How the BOT is choosing to handle Manny and the AD after witnessing the demise of this team these past few seasons is exactly the reason we are in this mess to begin with. What Is the BOT waiting to happen before firing these failures in leadership roles? What more information do they need to see? Does the BOT think Manny can turn this sinking ship around? The BOT are a bunch of morons.

OK I get that Manny is not a fine HC if you go by results, and players attitudes and execution. Even with the help of T-Rob and Shoop, the product on the field leaves a lot to be desired. And Lashlee and Simpson and others are not exactly RIcht's son in terms of bring capable and proven...

...so, if we assume we are loaded with talent as many say again and again, why is this combination of coaching staff and players not exactly working out. (:For those in "the know")...is Diaz an idiot that just ignores these assistants' advice and does his own dumb thing? Do players despise Diaz so much they don't want to give their all, in practice, prep, or ON the field (or OFF). If yes, Why or What for?

Yeah, some call the players soft in ability And attitude, but usually one gets attacked if they suggest we are not as talented as some would have you think. So sincerely, folks, if you think we are loaded with talent and capability, what is it about Manny and his current leadership team that is getting the worst out of this crew?

This season is a wash...the kids have been slacking since app state. You cant slack off and then magically turn it on.

One of the Hecht spies is going to read this and run back to Blake and BOT telling them “I have an ingenious plan that just might work and save us all....”
