How good is Akheem Mesidor?

I think he’s early to mid second round good but I’m biased. As discussed, he’s really come on - what a difference from his early career.

NFL teams are always looking for pass rushers. He's a round 2 pick if he stays healthy this season.

The injury history will scare off a bunch of teams but as I expected he’s an excellent college player. Finding those older guys who have played are the key in CFB now. I hope we again can find a veteran DE, DT, ILB, S, TE, QB, and WR in 2026.

He put the work in, looks to have changed his body, and is as healthy as he's ever been here. He's proving he is a legit NFL player when healthy. Very happy for him.

Idk about all that stuff they look at during the draft to measure a player and project.

But just watching the game.. it’s only one other guy I see playing better and that’s his teammate.

You also have to factor in the talent he’s facing. Dudes been a nightmare.

We just had a discussion on the show about it. I’m hearing some Day 2 buzz. Age and injury history will be a factor but his film is as good as anybody in the country. Great person, too.

So how good is he?
Day 2 from talent and recent tape. Injury and age make him more of a late Day 2, Day 3 guy...but lets see how the rest of the season goes. If you're the Browns, Steelers, or the Bengals...you have to love what you see from Mesidor as a versatile piece that helps you stop Lamar Jackson. Especially after the FSU game.

I should elaborated better on my last post on him. He is playing like a borderline 1st Rd, probably a 2nd Rd pick. His size, injury history, playing DT will all probably play into knocking down, where players not as good as him will get drafted ahead of him. I am not sure any other DE's are playing better than him beyond Bain and Simmons. Maybe Bailey, who is a OLB or edge like Mesi. It's a short list regardless. Mesidor is balling. He does get the luxury of Bain getting the double teams.

I was thinking about his Draft profile when watching the cinematic recap.

If I'm a GM where do I take him? An older prospect with an injury history - but he's dominating College football right now. A third round flier maybe, with a view to him turning into a decent rotational guy for me.

Canes keep winning --> NFL draft stock keeps rising

File under a rising tide lifts all boats

Scouts zeroing in on RBJ, Sisi, Beck find themselves intrigued by other players making Miami successful

Fits the mold of Steelers DE. I see him having a long successful NFL career. A team would be smart to try to get him and Bain.
I was about to write just that (currently catching up on the thread).

I think he'd be a good fit for a team like New England under Vrabel with how multiple they tend to be on defense
