FSU is in such a tough spot. You know you'll have to move on from Norvell, and the longer he sticks around the more harm is done to the program, BUT there are several big jobs available and realistically how many qualified people for those jobs?

The bidding war for whoever the big names are will be astronomical.

Was with a buddy last night who’s an FSU fan. He told me their boards were saying that Norvell was getting the axe if he lost to Stanford…then they did and he still has a job.

He mentioned their schedule next year is brutal (ND, Bama, UF as non-conference, and us and Louisville). Hard for a first year coach to go through that kind of gauntlet. Also lightening up the buyout by $10MM/year. And they are still paying Willie The Snake Oil Salesman. Wonder if they hold on to Norvell through part or all of next year if they haven’t canned him by now.

Every year you prolong the misery only lengthens the recovery - recruiting/talent base & financially with boosters, etc. Ah, maybe he’ll take another pay cut.

Am confused by this logic. First year head coach has the most rope of any coach. They're nuts if they keep Norvell through at least part of next year. I suspect they are just poor, and making up justifications.
