Thanks for the reply Mr. Cane Dynsty...but I didn't start this thread. Mine was merely a reply. Some guys on here are cool and generally interested in talking football. Also, thanks for the invite to your tailgate with the blue lot fellas though I must admit, 1000 people at a tailgate is a lot of people...sounds fun...except for the "body bag lyfe"…id rather just eat and drink beers if that's ok? Is it in lot 12 or is it in the blue lot? I don't think you can be in one lot and be in another lot at the same time but I digress.

Otherwise, this hillbilly will just go back to making my meth, while jumping creeks in the General Lee and daydreaming about the bright lights of Liberty City and re-runs of Miami Vice.

-Not once in your rant did you mention Coral Gables, which is where the University is.

-A sell out game for you is approximately 25k..you have to add bleachers to fit more and have people standing...Even then, the most fans you've had for a home game is 31k, with more expected for this game...maybe 33k tops. Your whole fan base on a complete sell out PLUS an over flow of fans STILL wouldn't be enough to fill half of our stadium...But try again to poke at selling out your tiny stadium

-Half of Miami fans didn't even know App State existed before we saw the name on the schedule.

-You're right...Our AD pimped you guys into paying us to come kick your *** in your own stadium.
 
If I'm trash talking App State fan, I'm leaving out the trolly comments about murder rates and boosters. I'd be focusing instead on how Miami (FL) is a mediocre football program that hasn't won a bowl game in a decade and hasn't been nationally relevant for longer than that.

It's not a night game, it won't be windy, and we don't have a long walk to the stadium. And....I've been told they have a blue lot. Why all the complaining?

Starting about a decade ago, the going rate for having non-power 5 FBS teams come and play at your place was driven upwards (+$1 million) by power-5 schools flush with cash. Large schools with big, on campus stadiums can pay teams like UMass (Florida), Western Kentucky (Alabama), and Arkansas State (Auburn) to come to their places on single game deals and still make a large profit.


By not owning their own stadium, and keeping all of the profits from a game, UM has effectively lost the ability to pay the going rate for these games. Hence them having to sign home and home deals with teams like FAU, FIU, Toledo, and Arkansas State.


Short answer, because someone canceled on us late enough in the process that, lacking the ability to pay a FBS school to come play us at Hard Rock, playing a home and home with a team like App State was the only viable option.

We could have offered a home and home with App going down there first but then as usually happens, when it comes to returning the favor, the bigger team usually renigs and does a buyout. So, you might say App's AD played the better hand. As for some of you...lets just say, upset fans...those that are in the depths of despair that such a team of regal status be burdened to play such a backwoods town...we do apologize a million Times over and over again!
