I love it!

Yeah, we tried to do a "by-invitation-only" membership, so we would contact posters we liked from other boards and then send them a private link to get in. I guess we must have invited someone that was friendly with Gary, because then Gary used the link to create a secret account that he could use to monitor us.

If that idiot had just kept his mouth shut, we probably would never have known. But we had one poster who had all the good recruiting info, and then suddenly very similar information would start popping up on CaneSport. So one of the HM/RCT posters who was really good at IT stuff actually traced the IP addresses of some of the "suspect" accounts, and one of them turned out to be the corporate address of CaneSport. So then we banned that entire IP location from accessing the site.

Gary got ****ed, plus he had been keeping track of all the insulting things people said about him, and how we were running "search and rescue missions" to invite CaneSport posters to join us, which is when he sent me the threatening e-mail about "stealing" his subscribers (even though we didn't charge any money).

Good times, indeed.

He was a very jealous man, that got upset when others got the scoop before him (which was often).

Remember during the exodus we used to invade other teams open forums on rivals to carry on discussions.

I’m the sister of long time poster and OG Scout / Lounge / Grassy/ WEZ member @RickDerris.

I knew about the boards from him and found my way to The WEZ through his account in May ‘24 so I could inform them of his passing.

I was given my own account and became a prolific poster and board personality in my own right until recently. I made my way over here to the greener pastures of CIS and am enjoying the atmosphere so far.

My first season of watching Canes Football was the 2023 season (Derris’ last). He taught me all about the game and the team he loved for 35 years. I watched the 2024 season on my own and became a season ticket holder last season where I attended every home game, including the Natty.

This is a great story. My grandfather and father got me into the Canes when I was a kid. I’m 40 now and both my father and grandfather have passed. I’m so happy you’re part of the Canes family.
