I remember him. He was a highly rated recruit Didn’t he go to Penn State or was it Oregon?

Yea Penn State which was a huge mistake in hindsight. What happened; i was told by family is that they took him to a strip joint in miami when he came on his last visit. He hated it and it wasnt his speed. Thats why he chose Penn state. He ended up transferring to FAU after one season at Penn. Got injured there and was a career backup for the next 4 seasons. He is now out of football but with a masters degree from Syracuse in hand.

So I grew up near the Orange Bowl. As a kid l would see the stadium lights on and the Goodyear blimp circling above, l could hear the roars.... But sitting in the upper decks on Saturday afternoons back in the early 90’s near the east end zone looking into downtown Miami’s skyline during that 58-0 run.. Will forever be engraved in my soul .. I ***’n love The Miami Hurricanes more then The Heat, The Dolphins, The Marlins, Messi, or Culos grande . No team matters more than the Orange and Green. Favorite game attended ? 2025 Cotton Bowl. Baby.
I waited 23 yrs for some real get back and watching Keontes pick 6 was the sweetest *** OSU moment ever !

First game I ever watched as a kid was 2001, I was 10 years old. Miami vs. FSU.

I didn’t know anything about football, but I knew those guys with the U on their helmets were really good. Started watching every game I could, living in KY sometimes made that difficult in the pre-streaming age. Watched them beat the brakes off Nebraska in the national championship, then cried when they got screwed against OhCryio State that next year. Been patiently waiting for the resurgence ever since, and last year, it finally happened.

Attended the UofM back in the "sun tan u"days with Schnelly and then holy macaroni along came Jim Kelly........if you had breath in your body you had to become a Cane.
It was cool because going back a few years, our U never had any idea what football was....it was an afterthought................then along came our Schnelly who told everyone he would make UM Champions.
Please note: This was in the day when our school was called "UM"...not the "U"...not the "Canes"..it was always referred to as UM....
and then all **** broke loose with Schnelly and his pipe and cowboy boots......been through thick and thin for all these years....passed on my passion to my son, and he became a rabid fan...all day Cane everyday...

Miami was always on ABC when I was a kid and started watching them in 2000 and fell in love. Pretty much everyone I grew up with was either an ND or Illinois fan and I hated both schools with a passion. Interesting combination of being from Chicago and being a Miami, Tampa Bay Devil Rays/Rays, and Tampa Bay Lightning fan. I always get **** for it but I don't give a flying ****.

Omg I was on the Miami side and had 3 OSU fans to my left.. talking $ ****. i bull**** you not. After that. The **** look on their faces. I almost ejaculated on myself.

As @RVACane said my one uncle is Craig Cosden and the other is Ray Ganong (adopted). Uncle Ray was on the strength staff as well until 1985. Growing up he’d let me try on his national championship whenever I’d get to see him which was not often.

Remember both of them. Ganong more for his strength coach career, if I remember he went to Lonk Mount Dora comes to minduisville with Howard. I also remember Craig did some High School coaching in central florida, Mount Dora comes to mind. Thanks for bringing back some old memories for me!
