How Did the CFB World Miss it This Bad?

Because they were going to be out for revenge after last year's snub and get redemption by marching over teams like Sherman marching to the sea back in the day.

The problem with that theory is in addition to the departed talent, DJ Ukulele is less accurate than a Civil War vintage musket and also had about a 10 yard range
 
Honestly, I just think FSU is beloved by many.. they are always over ranked.. they’re always over hyped.. they always get preseason love.

The 80’s bad boy Canes ruined our Imagine still till this day.. while FSU got to be the darlings.

They will be underdogs against Clemson, ND, and Miami. They have touch matchups at SMU and Memphis. They also have some decent matchups against BC and UNC.

Finally, like many of you on this board have said, you can’t live or die by the portal. At some point mediocre HS recruiting is gonna catch up. Finally, it looks like FSU’s bill is due.

The only thing in all of this that is confusing is how the CFB world so blatantly ignored what was in front of them. A team that downgraded at every position is, in fact, going to be far worse this year compared last year. The only way 7-5/8-4 gets worse for FSU is if Miami and MC finally break through and have a huge Year 3. TBD, the opportunity is there and must be taken.

Exactly. Other than not losing their coaching staff, FSU was in the same situation as the Washington Huskies. Lost all of their best players. Yet somehow the "experts" felt the Huskies should be unranked to start the year and FSU should be top 10. It made no sense.

Oh, don't be so sure he didn't know, but what could he do? He missed on Ward and had nothing on the roster, so DJ it was.
The bull**** was their pre-season hype. If they had lost to UGA by say 21 maybe you could make an argument, but it was 60 FFS and UGA took their foot off the gas.

I’m surprised they didn’t throw the ball to Trader or Chance more. Jeremiah Smith as well

Also weird to not see Jones or Blount get more playing time

Yeah, I’ve been scratching my head at the same. Don’t get why they got all the hype and many of us were calling this out. They lost way too many valuable contributors and filled those gaps with questionable players especially at QB.

I also don’t get they hype around their portal class - hugely overrated but hey, idgaf.

Last night I talked with 2 Fsu fans and about 4or 5 Florida fans while I was bartending. Florida fans were pretty consistent and agreed that they think there in for a tough game against us.

The Fsu dudes were thinking they are in for a good year. I brought up all the players lost and said how can you think you can loose that kind of talent and not take a step back. Well I guess I was right. I bet them 2 dudes are like fck that bartender. lol.
