A player can go from committed pretty solidly to one school, and within a weekend all of a sudden it's a battle between 2 other schools? Makes zero sense to me... How can everything that had you sold to the school you were committed disappear into thin air and now 2 other places are better options.. Doesn't add up

You're talking about 17-18 year old kids, most of which are trying to please everyone.... does this really need a new thread?

Hey Miami is trying to flip a few kids committed elsewhere so lets not throw stones when we live in a glass house.

Go Canes

The recruiting "game" has been taken to a different level recently. ****, the kid "committed" to FAU for the sole purpose to get his old coach some positive pub. To answer your question, the kids are just flat out lying.

It was methodically planned out, commit to the school that you've hated for all your life than spurn them last minute and commit to the rival school which you've always wanted to attend....u school sht

It's as simple as a spot just opened up for him at fsu a week ago when Frasier flipped. That's where he always wanted to go. Ufayg just hired a new coach a few weeks ago who made him a priority.

It's all about options and what those options have to sell. UM's got nothing left to compete with the big boys.

Kid never intended on being a Cane. Seems like the kid and the adults (handlers) in his life wanted to play games with the staff. Maybe to get back at the staff for not recruiting any of there U school players.

I think he truly wanted to stay home and put on for his city, but......when it comes down to crunch time, he had to face the fact that playing for this staff is a liability and not in his best interest.

Its the reason that St.Louis and others will follow suit as well.

Exactly. Y'all really trying to bash this kid and his character because he got a better option? There's no personal vendetta, dude just got a better offer/ opportunity and ran with it. 99% of this board would do the exact same thing in his situation.

I suppose that could be correct, IF he commits to FSU. I've been hearing UF for months so I'll stick with them for my prediction.

You can't blame this kid. If he goes to FSU, he'll likely be in the mix for a national championship every year he is there. If he goes to Miami maybe he'll win the Coastal division of the ACC. I don't know anyone that wouldn't want to be playing for National Championships.

You very well can blame the kid. Don't commit if that is not where you want to be. Players are not forced to make a decision until the 1st Tuesday of Feb. If you want to go somewhere and have hope to get that elusive offer, wait until then to make the decision. Making a commitment publicly and then breaking it reflects poorly on a persons character (by both partied I will add, coaches are not better), a man is only as good as his word.

Agreed. Either way, it sounds like he has better options (new uf staff, fsu RB spot) now then in the past when he originally committed and that was the point I'm trying to make. No conspiracy theory, just a kid making a decision he thinks is best for his future. I wish him all the best

Nothing really surprises me in recruiting anymore.

What we are seeing right now is a confluence of factors from ****** coaching, ****** player development, ****** performances on national stages and negative recruiting because any school with a pulse can come in here and tee off on the local school.

I'm still trying to figure out how FSU and UF are his better options. JS can come in here and get significant playing time right away. Three years and done. I don't see him getting much playing time at either FSU or UF next year. FSU has two RBs that will get 95% of the snaps. UF also has two RBs that will get the ball. If he comes in, he should see significant playing time here. His competition is another freshman, Yearby and Edwards.

The teams do it too, when they "cool" on players and stop recruiting them even though they've committed. This isn't a one way street.
And if you've ever played on a crappy team, you know how much fun that is. He sees the writing on the wall, why the **** would he sign up for that? It looked different a few months back before we imploded against FSU, Virginia and Pitt, and then we lost anyone in the recruiting class that mattered.

If we were winning 9-12 games per year we wouldn't have this issue. Golden just isn't the guy. He did some very positive things for Miami in a difficult time but he just isn't cut out for a big time coaching job like Miami. It's that simple. He's unfortunately getting this year but it is what it is.
