How big of an Advantage will a Dual Threat QB bring to Miami?

The bigger upgrade will be his maturity and leadership at the QB position. It blows my mind how poor we have been with these items in our QB room since Kaaya left.

But yes, strictly ranking dual threat QBs, we have an elite talent in King. With Lashlee, King and our soft schedule, if we don’t avg between 35-40 points a game something will have gone wrong

With question marks all over the OL having a QB that can scramble to extend plays, as well as designed QB runs, will make a huge difference.

Funny thing is Rosier was not even a dual threat QB, because all he could do with any proficiency was run.

I remember Marve occasionally running for a first down, causing the crowd to lose its s*it because we'd so rarely seen that. The first time King rips off a good run, that stadium will lose it.
 
How big is landing a dual threat alone? Possibly not big at all. Tate Martell was a dual threat. The relevant question is how big is landing King? And that answer is: absolutely ******* massive!
 
I'm going on record saying we have NEVER had a true dual threat QB like King. I am sick and tired of hearing "dual threat" QB like every kid is potentially Michael Vick. We heard it about Kenny Kelly, Rosier, Perry, Collins and ****, even Williams. NONE OF THEM were real dual threats. They had legs and could run a bit, but newsflash, most QBs aren't quadriplegics. ****, I remember some TV guys saying Brad Kaaya was a dual threat. Jacory Harris as well. None of them could run like King, or even close.

Vinny was the closest thing we've had to a dual threat QB, and it wasn't his thing either.

We simply have not had a QB that can take it to the house from 70 yards like King.
 
Perry was also rated as a dual threat QB coming out of high school.

I am going to be "that guy" and say I hope King's running ability makes very little difference this season.

Meaning we are passing the ball to open WRs & TEs in space and running the ball with the RBs efficiently.

After he breaks a few runs early in the season, you'd better believe it will help our skill players get open later on.

Nobody had film of Canes with QB who could run. It was huge edge until they firgured out he didn't pass well. This new guy could have very big year, lets hoping staff doesn't waste it like 2017.

Cade Weldon had like 500 yards rushing his senior year and was rated as a pocket passer.

There’s a lot of teams with run first quarterbacks who aren’t good passers but they play in a system that maximizes their talents while hiding their weaknesses. Rosier has very little accuracy but Richt kept calling the same two vertical routes every game and his weaknesses were amplified.
