How big of an Advantage will a Dual Threat QB bring to Miami?

There’s a lot of teams with run first quarterbacks who aren’t good passers but they play in a system that maximizes their talents while hiding their weaknesses. Rosier has very little accuracy but Richt kept calling the same two vertical routes every game and his weaknesses were amplified.
I loved Rosier, best QB we have had since Berlin. For e first job of QB is to win and he did, at least the first year. Kid bet noles and ND and got us to number 2 despite Mark.

We do?! Jackson led offense avg over 42 a game in '16 and 38 in '17. Explain how an offense we have never seen is better than one that produced a hiesman winner? I understand having some excitement for possibilities but to be drunk off koolaid already
I was talking about the pieces. Much better RB's, much better TE's, slightly better WR room, OL is sus obviously. But as a unit the talent is better. Not talking about production

I only care about production. We have been a talented team for years and suck, talent is fun to talk about and only wins you national offseason championships on message boards. Lets focus on production moving forward.

The bigger upgrade will be his maturity and leadership at the QB position. It blows my mind how poor we have been with these items in our QB room since Kaaya left.

But yes, strictly ranking dual threat QBs, we have an elite talent in King. With Lashlee, King and our soft schedule, if we don’t avg between 35-40 points a game something will have gone wrong
Rosier was Very mature and a solid leader. He just wasn't that talented and seemed to lose confidence in 2018 for some reason

I think that was Enos biggest issue. He tried to force our QBs to do things they were not comfortable doing just because he didn't want to adjust his Offense to the players he had.

Lol at this question. D’Eriq ******* King is our quarterback. How much will it help? The kid playing the position would start for 125 teams this fall. Just sit back and enjoy the show.

By the way, not trying to be a ****. I understand the question. I just think people don’t realize just how good King is. He’s really special. “How much is he going to help?” can’t be quantified. He’s literally takes the entire team to a higher level.
All of this.

We haven't had a true Dual threat QB at Miami since the 90s. I'm curious on how big of a advantage this will bring the offense now that we have D'Eriq King.

ROFL, what UM teams were you watching, "dual threat" my ***, its one of the most over-used terms in sports, when pretty much all our national championships were won with drop back passers. The most effective qb that UM has ever had in the category of "dual threat" was the all of a sudden color blind one himself, testaverde.

This new transer in qb needs to stop being viewed as a "dual threat" when it seems like his best threat is just running, against stronger defenses, this ****'s passing stats are mediocre at best, add to the fact that they listing him at only 5'10, which makes even more sense as to why his passing stats have been suspect. Can he even beat out perry who we all know has an elite gear that he can get too.

He admitted on more than one occasion that he should have studied more and pushed to practice with the skill guys more

Everything Enos did was a humongous fail. He took 3 QBs who hadn't taken a snap from under center since pee-wee football and put them under center. He had an inexperienced and unproven offensive line and expected them to be able to hold pass protection for 5 seconds while his incredibly slow developing plays unfolded. He had no audible system or even a "check with me" system to get out of bad plays when it was obvious the play called would not work against the defensive front. His play calling made no sense. He knew what the weaknesses were on offense but did nothing to gameplan around them. WTF are you doing running a play action fake on third and 12?

Yeah, like force them to throw Hail Marys. I think it was the opposite. Our QBs, as a whole, couldn't do a lot of the basics consistently, and it tied Enos' hands. Everything certainly looked forced, because it was. The only thing that came natural to our QBs last year was slacking.

After he breaks a few runs early in the season, you'd better believe it will help our skill players get open later on.
Yes, I do expect that to happen from time to time.

I just think if the offense is as good as I think it can be it won't be the main reason why the offense is great. It will be the Playmakers making plays and the RBs running for huge runs that will be the advantage. And of course King making the right decisions with the ball.

Exactly. We shouldn't be relying on King to do it all. The fact he CAN do it all will cause a lot of sleepless nights for DCs.

Yes indeed.

I heard King once in an interview mention that one of his idols is Russell Wilson. Who is definitely known as a guy who can run when he needs to get out of a jam or keep a play going in Houdini like fashion.
But what makes Wilson so good is that he is accurate, makes good decisions and can find his playmakers time and time again.
That gives any offense an advantage when a QB can do those things as a priority.
