How big is Canes BBall right now and Coach L?

The Portal has all but neutralized the talent disparity the Blue-Bloods used to have over every other program.

It hasn’t really had that effect in Football obviously, because you’re talking 60+ players per team, but in Basketball, all you really need is 2-3 good players from an addition standpoint & all of the sudden you’re on par with a top 10 team.

And also because of the extra Covid- year, teams have a lot more veteran experience, where players are older, more matured, more skilled & have a significant mental advantage over younger 1 & done teams, because they’re way more stoic & poised under pressure in crunch time.

Teams are getting top scorers from Mid-Majors & lower level schools & adding them in with already maturated vet rosters, then going on Deep tourney runs giving the traditional schools ****.

Miami IMO is probably the #1 destination spot for a high commodity Portal player;
- Lucrative NIL Deal
- Chance to play for an E8/F4 team
- Style Of Play
- Campus Atmosphere

If you’re a top tier Portal player, coming to play for Coach Larra & overall Miami as a program should be extremely appealing given the recent success & the fact you won’t have to augment your game. The 4-Out Motion Offense is very malleable for a lot of different styles of players that can fit; all they really need to do is be able to drive to the basket & finish, knock down shots when you get an open look & don’t be selfish. As long as you’re not a Ballhog this Offense fits pretty much every prototype hooper.

And for a veteran Upperclassman who isn’t gonna be a lottery pick but still wants to get paid while having a chance to play for a team that can make a Deep tourney run, it’s the best of both worlds.
Caleb Love should be Ruiz's 1st, 2nd and 3rd call.

Fixed it. I slightly disagree too. Blue bloods will always be the blue bloods. What really harms them atleast in my eyes is the cba to where now ALOT of those top tier kids don't bother with college anymore and if they do it's one and done. Besides that you got the nil doing what it does & the portal feeding the needy. But overall I sortve think we're seeing a watered down product nationally. I'm curious whether or not that will keep up.

Bluebloods have an inherent disadvantage... they do recruit top 50 talent, but most of them are 1 and done or transfer out because of lack of significant minutes or super star numbers they are used to in HS. Hence programs lack continuity or seniority ...
Teams like Drake and Creighton have the advantage of players staying in the system for 2 to 3 years. They have older players and senior leadership on their teams, which is a huge upside once you make the tourney..

All I know is that the black uniforms being worn by Miami are some of the ugliest I have ever ever seen. Im thrilled they’re in the final four but the amount of **** I heard from my boys about the uniforms. They’re atrocious. Another L by adidas.
Your boys sound really cool

Absolutely not; he’s a team chemistry killer. He’s erratic, makes a lot of selfish decisions, & is an inconsistent shooter that think he has the green light 24/7. And he smashes his teammate’s chicks. Keep him away from Miami.
Even with all that be lead team to NC game. Gotta take your shot.

Bro, that was last yr, & he got hot for a small stretch. It was actually Brady Manek that became the difference, not Love. Trust me on this one.
I'm not gone pretend to know a lot about college b-ball. This 2023 class looks like a program ender. Idk if Coach L thought we were on probation or what happened but we need 2-3 bodies in portal.

Agree w/ that, but u still want high character guys that play the brand of ball Coach L wants; Love is a cancer, bruh. U don’t want that type on ur team. He’s best suited at a lower tiered P6 program or a high tier non power conference team. Unless bro gets his chit together & focus on being a team guy & in the gym, u don’t want that guy around ur program.

One kid, Michael Nwoko a top 150, 6'10" (reportedly) and 240lb interior player is committed.

But CBB is about the portal now. I worked expect us to take two top portal kids this year the way we took Pack and Omier last year.

Agree nearly 100%. The only thing I'd say is that portal influence will slightly diminish once the covid year guys fully exhaust their eligibility. We still have a glut of college-eligible guys as a result.

But the portal is going to remain very bigly.
