How bad...

We can go a 0-12 and I’d still be a canes fan, I’ve been a fan since I was a kid in the late 80’s. It’s in my blood and I’m going down with the ship

With that being said our games are excruciatingly boring and the only joy I get watching cfb these days is watching teams I hate lose (fsu, gators, taint, usc, Notre dame etc..)

Nothing can stop me from being a die hard cane!...but i wouldn't watch them play a team with a pulse....cuz we now know from da horses mouth( j. Williams) they dont take games serious!!

Always be a fan. Been at this since the 60s. Prepared for a couple of more years of disappoint however
****, your resilience is to be commended

Amen, exactly what I said. I will always be a cane and root for the U. My dad introduced me to orange and green in early 80s and I watched many games with him over the years and a bro/cuz that we've built alot of memories together. Will never turn my back on that love. I may not be as invested as I once was but canes will forever be my team. If I live long enough to see us reach the top again, I'm getting a tattoo of the U on my left @ss cheek and get buried face down

To paraphrase from Family Guy:

“Yesterday, I walked into the family room and sat down on the couch to watch the Canes. I looked with a grimace at the questionable gameplan Diaz had placed in front of me. Of course, I’d never Tweet at the coaches how disgusted I was with the effort, but somehow I think they knew. The Canes had always been full of energy and passion, but lately I began to grow more aware of their indifference. The exciting, aerial offense I had fallen in love with was now beginning to grow dull and stagnant with a long fatigue from Enos’ soggy play sheet.”

I am at the point where I don't mind missing games anymore. If Manny stays any longer than next year. I will stop watching, but I wont root for another team. I just will stop watching CFB in general.

Same here it was like it didn’t matter. Especially after the FIU loss. Pretty sad actually I used to look forward to Miami games. Now I don’t care at all.
The FIU game left me feeling like a piece of me had died. I'm always gonna be a fan and an alumnus. To keep going with @Dees Brown loved one metaphor, watching games will be more like visiting a cemetery than actually going to spend time with them, at least until the program starts to have a pulse again (pun intended)

I've always believe that with a few changes here, a few changes there, we would be a top 10, top 5 team again. Now, I don't think it's going to happen.

Would it have to get for you to stop rooting for the canes? If ever got to that point, would root for another team, or not have a team at all?

As I was watching the game, i found myself feeling indifferent. Like i expected us to lose, and I was ok with it. After Jarren pick, I calmly turn off the TV, went into the garage to finish my project.

Hurricanes died in 2003. It's like when someone loses a loved one, and they leave the things/room the same because they cant accept they are gone. They know should pack their things and move on.

It's really should be this hard win at Miami. Even if we never signed elite players from Florida, only the 2nd tier players, your floor is 8 wins with talent along.

I beg to differ. Miami football died after the 2005 season. And mighty LSU not only put Miami in it's proverbial coffin, but tossed that coffin six feet deep and then proceeded to shovel the Orange and Green dirt on said coffin. hUh.

Yea you are right. They Mitch Green'd us that year.

The ones that are close to not being a fan anymore should just commit and make the leap. You’ll be happier, we’ll be happier.

To answer OP. Nothing. People forget how bad those Golden years were, they prepared me for this. I may ***** and complain but there’s no way I’d ever stop rooting for the Canes. I’ll be right in front of my tv for every game next year and the next year etc, until I die. Regardless of outcome.

Been a Cane since JJ brought me over from OSU. I'll always be a Cane fan. I just don't get raging mad during the games anymore. My wife and dog still hide during the games but I just laugh. "Seriously honey, I'm ok". I'll just continue waiting for us to be a normal football team.
