The 3-4 read and react defense isn't the problem it was coach Doritos' version of the 3-4 defense.

Dude consistently never lined up the NT over the Center. This was our, and now Houston's "3-4" alignment. Not for passing downs but as a base to stop the run. We were basically lined up in a 4-3 alignment and told our D-line to 2 gap. Terrible scheme.

You have to have a Dominant NT to run the 3-4....If not it's sheer stupidity...

How does one not just shudder thinking about the ****** state of this program not so long ago. We haven't even reached the three-year anniversary of that 58-0 ***-kicking Clemson delivered, costing Fat Albert his job.

For all those complaining the "rebuild is talking too long" or yelling that Miami "should already be back by now"—look at this fat-faced, loser of a coordinator and remember how recently he was roaming the sidelines, fattening up our players and using them in a 3-4 scheme.

It took a good portion of this board and fan base until Clemson to see the obvious
 
Where's the clip of Onofrio with a confused look on his face during that Clemson game when another assist coach is looking at him with that "you can't possibly be that dumb" look?

it's mind-boggling that someone that allegedly specializes in 3-4 would intentionally scheme away the primary advantage of a nose tackle. what's the point if you never run an even front?

What he's realized is he has the ability to bamboozle people to sign him to multi-year mid-six figure salaries that he is completely undeserving of having. That, my friends, is REAL TALENT! Joke's on everyone else! he's making bank and he must not care that he doesn't know ash about coaching.

Thank you I have always felt the “grass is always greener” feeling towards the Manny Diaz criticisms as of late. Although in some cases the criticism is warranted like with any coach during a loss or slight dip in production, remember what Miami D is built on and how what Diaz brings in a defense embodies everything typically defines the hierarchy of Cane defenses. I’ll take a true Cane at heart aggressive attacking defensive coordinator along with whatever imperfections that brings over any other type of coach and his own unique set of imperfections any day. Just my thoughts.

You really have to wonder why Folden hitched his wagon to No D. The guy was horrible. It makes your blood boil. The funny comment is he doesn't have his own players lol....no UH, u don't want to wait that long, it actually gets worse once a team has played against him before.
 
The only reason Folden and No D were able to con their way through almost 5 years was the cloud they kept using for their inept coaching and recruiting. I was done after the 2nd season and all those 500 yard defensive performances to teams like UVA and Duke
