HOLY SH(T NOBODY WANTS MARIO STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT

Have no problem with Mario. A guy that was named National Recruiter of the Year, spent time under Saban to develop and coaches with energy. Also, would want to be at the school. Not saying he is the best candidate but wouldn't be an awful hire

Like he said Recruiter of the Year, a guy that HS coaches in the area respect and think could do a great job

Knows Miami environement and politics and hes a guy with a big personality which is always appealing

Nothing says "I want to be here" like leaving a job after a month, amirite?

"Spent time under Saban"

You do realize that actually means nothing. You have no idea if he learned anything and if he did if it would actually make him any better.
It's something that's should not be part of the consideration process.

I don't blame him for leaving for more money to work under Saban!

Look at all the coaches that were under Saban that left to be HC's elsewhere. They aren't doing so hot except for McIlwain. A talking head on 92.9 The Game here in Atlanta made a great point that maybe Saban makes them better at their job than they are capable of doing it on their own.

I'll pass on Cristobal. My newly found enthusiasm will be shot once again.

We need a head coach, not a head recruiter. Anytime someone tries to claim Mario isn't a nightmare candidate, the first positive out of their mouth is always about recruiting. His coaching resume is flaming dog s*** and Bama fans want him gone as their OL coach. Anyone who views him as an acceptable candidate is out of their f***ing mind.

And being National Recruiter of the Year isn't so hard when you're a position coach telling a recruit, "Come play for Nick Saban at an historic SEC power that spares no expense, has world class facilities, and an incomparable stadium atmosphere."

If Mario wasn't Cuban not a single person would be interested.

This is a fan base that seems to care more about how their coach looks than if he can actually coach.

no offense but if are kidding yourself if you don't think he picked up anything with his two years spent under the greatest in the game. now if he applies it if given a HC job is another story.

Being a TE coach compared to HC at your alma mater are completely different discussions. They offered him 500k more for the same job and to compete for national titles. Selfishly, he likely left as well to learn under Saban than Golden after he saw the writing on the wall for 2 months under him.

How to determine whether you are a potato:

1. Is your ideal Miami coach one of the following: Cristobal, Schiano, Chud?
2. If Yes, you are a potato.

No point on taking a risk on this guy, when Butch is available and wants the job. Nobody would even know about him if he didn't work for Butch, and then for Butch's guys Schiano and Coker. He is probably the worst candidate out of the names floating around out there. Him & Kiffin.

Ok. Prove it.
Your last sentence proves my point.
It's something that sounds good but there is no way of knowing if it has actual substance.
So what the point in taking into consideration if you don't know if it means anything.

Hey lets consider hiring Shannon back!! He worked for Gary Patterson he must have learned something!!

He picked a lot up from Saban, yet you cannot even articulate what it is that he picked up.

27 - 47 at FIU in a lousy conference despite having access to superior talent relative to his competition
3 wins against teams with winning records
Notoriously difficult to work with (contributing to his dismissal at FIU)
Left us after 6 weeks to take a job with the sole purpose of stealing recruits away from us

But yeah, let's hire him because there's a chance he became Vince Lombardi by standing near Nick Saban. Let's disregard the fact that few coaches from the Saban coaching tree have had much success upon leaving.
