Hodges Commits

Per Baker and Patke... (during our conversation)

They often want to make their zone coverage look like man.
If that outside WR is vertical the CB will lock him up. (but that's just standard Cover-3 technique) If he's in your 3rd then he's yours. If the WR is shallow/inside then you let him go and keep bailing to the 3rd.
CB eyes on QB.
CB is reading the QB's shoulders to determine what type of throw it is. If that front shoulder is pointed up then expect a deep ball. If the front shoulder is even/down then expect a hitch/curl.

Diaz/Baker place and emphasis on creating turnovers, which is why they like zone. It gives your players "zone eyes", allowing them to see the throws and attack the ball. (which you can't do in man) It's the main reason that our LB's don't pattern match, cause (in their words) they lose their zone eyes.

sunshine pumpers, where are you at?
lets hear the homerism..........

1. don't worry he has that south florida dog in him
2. we rather have the south florida 3 star because he would be 4 star in another state
3. we only wants guys who want to be here
4. hes a diamond in the rough, we are lucky to get him before he blows up
5. you guys didn't play football so lets leave the evals to the coaches
I'm sure there's a door somewhere on this thread...

What do you think of Baker how is he

When you play press-bail...you walk up in a press position and then bail with your eyes on the QB. That's called "zone turning"...aka ZONE coverage. If it was pure man, your eyes would be on the WR and you'd turn towards him.

To be fair, we had M Jax playing a lot of press "trail" technique where as Bandy played more press "bail."

Press bail can be used for off-man coverage. Mostly it's used in cover 3. But it only actually works if you also mix in press-man as well.

Branch, Francois and Hodges is now three DB’s with athletic testing concerns but great length. Hodges I assume stays at CB though.

The staff has a type.
