Gun to your head

Strong or Patke?
I want to go back on this here. ..Strong isn't really what you want as a HC. he just cannot get the job done. However, FSU brings in Jim Leavitt as an analyst (@ 80k annually), and he would also be a good candidate.

Strong would probably be a really good fit at DC under Manny. not exactly sure if his style would match want Manny is trying to do along with the fact that they would basically switch roles from the Texas days, but Leavitt would be very nice to bring in to replace Baker. Your talking about a guy that could really get the most out of his LBs, and has been all over South Florida recruiting.

Can he bring TCU's offensive line with him. We are not going to get better until we have an offensive line. Our line is a joke and coaches know it. they keep saying they are playing the best people we have. So it really doesn't matter who the OC is. Until the line is fixed we are bottom dwellers

This is true IF we keep running Enos' offense. If we went all Hal Mummy air raid you don't really need quality Ol play. The ball is gone by the time the DL can run to the QB. That and the RBs can see the DL that is spread out to match the wide splits....................................

Giving an OC a pass because of the OL is horse****.

The stat about Duke should have put that to bed.
This, I haven't been crushing Enos like many, but at the end of the day your play-caller needs to adjust to the talent he has on the OL. Enos refuses to do this week in and week out.

Enos baffles me. His scripted drives usually look good and then everything goes to ****. Where’s all the motions we heard about? It only happens on the first drive it seems.

Sweeps to the short side of the field when our tackles are ***. 1 yard to go and instead of using Deejay up the gut we’re ******* around starting 5-6 yards deep trying to go outside

It’s easy to criticize OCs when plays don’t work but some of it is just non-sensical.

Same time we have seen some plays we miss that would have made Enos look better. UiF we missed a lot of chances.

If Perry connects on a couple of throws early in that game, maybe we aren’t as down on Enos? I dunno. But the excuse can’t be the OL all the time.

it tough to truly judge how crappy our oline is until they are put in a position to succeed
it wasn't too long ago that dno's dline was considered a joke and posters were complaining left and right about a lack of talent
and like I keep mentioning those same exact players become top 20 and a strength of the program the exact next year with better coaching and a scheme that played to their strengths
its hard for me to believe we recruited at a level that would justify giving up 10 sacks in a game and giving up the most sacks in the country
while the talent is no where elite it is not as bad as the results show either
Watching 55 fly through the air backwards onto his *** every play is not a scheme issue.

I hear you, he has had 2-3 drives a game where I'm like, here we go. And as you said it, it all goes to **** after. His insistence on calling plays from under center that takes forever to develop drives me crazy. I also agree with you that Jarren going through growing pains has hurt some downfield throws and chances. But why he goes away from Brevin as much as he does, how did he only have 2 catches last week?

I guess I would be feeling better if I saw us in the shotgun more. He needs to help the OL and I feel like while they have hindered what he wants to run on offense he has done very little to mask their weaknesses.

The insistence on running out of the shotgun on short yardage irks me but we see other teams do it to us all the time as well and it never works. I think even the announcers mentioned how stupid this trend is.
