1 of them took points off the board, and 2 of them resulted in 14 points within a few plays. That's going to hurt.
I think we've come back down to earth. We knew our CBs were a weak point and they finally got exposed, especially 25 whom we all know should be a backup only. We should have known Bell wasn't ready to take on a top pass rusher. We knew something was off in the run game. I admit I was flabbergasted at our inability to stop the outside run, didn't expect that. But all our known problems came to roost in one game, and a few more unexpected ones showed themselves.
And while you're right that Va Tech is mediocre, their best game with some lucky bounces makes them very dangerous. Vandy should have beaten Missouri and Rutgers just beat Washington. Va Tech is right in that pack of scrappy teams you cannot look past. I said it in the writeups when everyone else was calling them ***. They're not ***. They're a 30-to-50 type team that is dangerous when you're shooting yourself in the foot.
