****, Herndon

I believe the NFL partnered with Uber to provide a free uber ride if impared.

You’re right..... but that’s just it. Drunk guys don’t usually realize that they’re “that” drunk (if there is such a thing). They definitely don’t think that they are impaired enough to get a DUI or to not make it home. So they drive. I’m glad he didn’t kill anyone. It’s a simple equation, really. If you’re drinking, don’t drive.

Young people make stupid decisions all the time, hopefully the other person isn't injured badly and Herndon can learn from this mistake and be able to continue his career.

But seriously, don't risk your life and the lives of others.....its a completely selfish move

Everyone should have ingrained in their mind not to drive if they're drunk. There's no way someone can find and start their car and get it driving yet be too drunk to pull up their uber or call a cab. It was incredibly stupid and irresponsible of him and he's extremely lucky he didn't kill someone else or himself. And that't not something to brag about. Just because you've done it safely before doesn't mean you won't kill someone's child the next time you do it, that's incredibly selfish.

When ppl are sober i'm sure everyone has it ingrained in their minds not to drive drunk. Majority of these drunk drivers who clearly have an addiction issue dont have full control of their mental state or their decisions.

It's like how somebody can hit LSD and just be high af looking dumb af but the next person hit's LSD and jumps off a bridge bc they think they can fly or pulls their eyes out bc a voice was telling them to.

Drugs impair's people differently and alcohol is no different. I'm sure sober Herndon isnt walkng around saying hey i cant wait to drive drunk.

Real nice touch by the piece of sht Herndon to be speeding hammered at 4:45 AM. He doesn't deserve a pro football career. Hope he likes working security

That’s just it, and I say this from my own personal experience, so there is no sanctimony involved. Unless you are going to carry your own breathalyzer in your car, and stick to no more than one or two beers, and can actually control and trust yourself to not put that key in if you blow above 0.04, then anytime you’re out and going to have a drink, you should already know you’re not going to drive. A person absolutely cannot trust themselves to have drinks and then decide, just based on how they feel, if they are ok to drive. To each their own, and I’m not saying everyone necessarily needs to follow these rules, but that’s what has worked for me for years. If you’ve ever, even once, woken up and said “wow, I’m lucky I got home, I should not have driven”, don’t let yourself do that again. Try my advice or seek help, or come up with some other plan for yourself.

I still support and will root for Herndon, but there is absolutely no excuse for NFL players to be drinking and driving these days. This is something the league really should take a zero tolerance policy on, and it would simply stop happening.

Hes lucky to be alive or that he didn't kill anyone. Cane or not, DUIs sicken me.

Agree...I have a friend who’s brother was killed by a drunk driver

Hopefully he learns from this and realizes how lucky he is.

We got nerds in here talking about DARE videos in elementary school lol some of you clowns need to chill tf out.

Some ppl don’t have control of their thoughts and actions when they drink. That’s why you sound stupid implying that he should’ve made a better decision?? He was drunk what tf r u talking about?

Side note: I have driven drunk or under the influence plenty of times in the past and always made it home safely.

You sir, sound like a jackass and anyone with sense on these boards would agree. I hope you are joking. I've made stupid mistakes including dwi but I was young and dumb. But I don't defend it or try to rationalize. His choice and he deserves the consequences. Cane or not

I imagine he will be sued for the amount of his signing bonus, at a minimum.

The fact that one decision can take away everything he's worked for, up to and including his life should be really clear to him now.

Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb...

This might be the next blue lot boys post. Well done.

Crazy idea , if you plan on drinking that night get a ride to and from the bar. Or call an Uber to take you to and from.

The thing is people are too lazy to do that , the extra money or time just isn’t worth the aggravation or hassle. They just don’t want to to deal with the headache getting a ride back to where their car is. Its pure laziness and selfishness. But I’m not shocked in 2018 there’s excusss for getting plastered and driving, you obviously haven’t lost a loved one to one of these ********.

I’m just glad he didn’t hurt somebody or himself , charge this up to a life lesson. Excuses stop after one dui, if you continue to do that after getting popped I don’t know what to say about ya.

exactly, it would've probably been $50 max. My point being is, you just became a millionaire, $50-100 to get you home safely is like pocket change.

Still millionaire or not $100.00 is a $100.00.

For $100.00 he'd have to drive me home, carry me inside, start up a fresh pot and scramble up some eggs before leaving.
