Get well soon Chris. Thought he would have had more of an impact on the passing game this season especially with this being Rosier's first season and the TE usually is a young QB's best friend. Not his fault though, he balled out and had some Huuuge catches. He's going to be another good UM TE in the NFL.

Funny, when Golden signed him there were crickets. I certainly never saw him emerging as he has.

A lot about him concerns me...

I’d rather integrate more Langham, Cager and Harris - if possible - than see Irvin out there. There’s a reason why he’s had so few reps.

He seemed to be the key blocker on our outside zone run. Did a nice job of sealing the edge and/or kicking out.

Being that we have like 2 run plays, this is a huge loss. Will be tough to overcome.

Don't need a TE to win games. We didn't really use him much anyway. He's an excellent player, but when our running game is getting shut down, he hasn't been enough to help it.
 
Not sure where people are getting the notion that Herndon wasn't used much this year. You can make the argument that he is "underutilized" but he is literally 2nd on the team in receptions and yards behind Berrios. Make no mistake about it -- this is a big loss.
