Herman could be the next Brady Hoke

He's going to be a beast for some Power 5 school. I'll bet any amount of money on that. I just hope it's with us.

You could've said the same thing with Gary Patterson, Mike Gundy, Charlie Strong, etc... when they first started. It's always a roll of the dice with coaches like this.

However, given Herman's recent success, I doubt he turns out to be Hoke.

We allknow
Theres a risk, its who is the least of therisks and thats butch. That being said Herman is my second waaaaaaaaay and im saying waaaaaaaay behind butch

Yep but that's a chance that UM can't take. Lane Kiffen looked promising his first year at Tennessee. He even made Florida sweat. Herman maybe good at Houston doesn't mean he would do well with the big boys.

I'm with you, first Butch, then Herman, but not waaaayyy like you say. Herman is the truth, he must get a DC, and we will be rolling too!!

We can't take that chance. We experimented with Coker, Shannon, and Golden.

Absolutely not. Hoke had a good amount of work to judge him on. His winning pct was 50% at his 2 prior stops. I never understood why he was highly thought of.

Herman is the wild card. He is on fire in his first year. Therein lies his problem. 1st year. His team is also in a lower conference with a very low strength of schedule. Is he the real real? Who the **** knows. But his ceiling is definitely higher than Hoke's. Hoke only won more than 7 games 1x and that was in his eighth year.

He could either be the next Urban or the next Chris Peterson. Remember him? At one point he was the hottest thing in CFB. Offensive genius. Finished in the top 10 with Boise State 4x. That's right, Boise Freakin State.

Now look at him at UW. Its still early but his record at UW is not too impressive.

No we took the lazy route with Coker and Shannon and failed to really take a close look at what Golden was actually doing in Temple.
All three cases are varying degrees of the administrations lazynes.

Many thought Hoke would be a beast.Didn't he win 11 games his first year.

perhaps they did. but coming in his best record and sunshine year was against the WORST SOS in the country. also, he won 11 games with richrod's kids. just like muschamp won 11 with urban's kids.

However, given Herman's recent success, I doubt he turns out to be Hoke.

There is not a big enough body of evidence of him as a head coach yet. BUT....there is overwhelming proof about his abilities on the offensive side of the ball, plus he is known as a good recruiter, so with a good defensive coordinator, the odds are certainly in your favor.

Michigan hired Hoke because they missed on Miles, and HAD TO HAVE A MICHIGAN MAN!

The coaches who most resemble Hoke are Chud, Schiano, and Cristobal.

The major selling point for any of them is that they used to coach at Miami ... Their actual records don't say they should be serious candidates. Just as Hoke's record didn't say he should have been a legit candidate for Michigan.

correct his team is putting up 44.4 PPG no matter how bad the competition is those are impressive numbers. want to know how impressive? the 2001 canes put up 42.7 points and our offense has NEVER scored 44 PPG on average for a season....

We can't take that chance. We experimented with Coker, Shannon, and Golden.

Or he could be the next Jim Harbaugh or Art Briles or Gary Patterson or Urban Meyer or Jim Tressel or one of the others who came from inferior levels and had success at the next level.

Or somewhere in between.

What a ***ing atrocious porst.

Also, Shannon was an incredibly dumb hire for a multitude of reasons.
