Here's what I know

I personally don't care about this recruiting class. I'd be fine with us signing 0 recruit's and just hitting the portal if it means we can find the right Head Coach
This class never really materialized and won't stick either way. The last thing I'd concern myself with at this point.

Understand your thought process as it’s rational. However, the old guard is and has been being pushed aside. There’s a few members of that old guard and their associates who are very tired of the results to contribution ratio. Stay on the optimistic side of things, you will not be disappointed. As I mentioned before the word was passed to BJ a couple months ago. With your background you will know that the stubborn status quo contingent was very anti his removal and you see how that turned out.

Look, I can agree with everything you are saying. I am trying to be optimistic, but I have 35 years of observations here.

The point that I am making (both on the AD job and the HC job) is that the citation of "background check" can be a very powerful reason to say "no". It is much harder to argue "keep Beta Blake" when you have 8 or 9 years of bad outcomes (regardless of the myth of "Fundraisin' Blake, King of the Deep Pickpockets"), but it is much easier to say "no" to red flag candidates when you have cleaner candidates on the agenda.

I am guardedly optimistic. I think the Old Guard loses this round, but they are going to put up a fight.

So you’re saying Freeze wasn’t on the boat with Falwell Jr., his wife, and the pool boy? Cool.

Falwell and Freeze worked at Liberty at the same time for 1.5 years. If you have video, please share.

Falwell got away with ****e cause his daddy built Liberty. The standards are not as forgiving if your last name isn't "Falwell".

My biggest concern with Jurich is the influence of the search firm.

Again, I have not heard this is a done deal and the Louisville situation is a hurdle that needs to be overcome.

Ouch so Jurich is out

Why hire a search firm to in the end ignore their advice or reservations

If the search firm has reservations about Jurich that is no bueno.

Especially if other BOT are pushing another candidate (ie. Tony Hernandez) and the urgency is up now due to UF and Mullen being canned

Thank you for taking the time to share that information. Much appreciated.

If it's Jurich and the BoT is doing its due diligence, that's good business. Yes, he may have been absolved, but if they're taking the time to figure out what went into that behind the scenes just to be sure there aren't any skeletons in the closet that could be revealed later, that's what you want your leadership to do. I get some of y'all are impatient, but there's quite literally no difference to Miami to have this hire done now or waiting another week. Let it play out.

Any and all smoke about Manny Sr or Dimare somehow being drivers in the decision making process are false. I said from the start this time was different and it is. Credit for that goes to both the CONSEQUENTIAL members of the BOT and to Frenk. It can’t be overstated the active role Frenk has played reference his putting trusted and knowledgeable voices around him to make things right.

A fantastic selling job has been done reference Jurich. We’ve assured him it’s his show and the resources he will have will be for to succeed. I can say he has had strong interest from the start when he was reached out to months ago. He also had reservations which seem to have been tabled for the most part. At the same time he’s had to be sold to some of the more influential dead weight that has their hands in the process as well.

The names kicked around by @DMoney have little care or concern for keeping or bringing in “Miami guys”. The nostalgia bs with them ran it’s course a very long time ago. Decades of lazy and incompetent hires are working in our favor.

And last but not least. The best thing that could have happen did when Mullen was fired by UF. It kicked the urgency level into overdrive and softened some of the more change resistant voices who are garnering less and less of Frenk’s ear. I can confirm Frenk and Jurich have spoken and that it went well as far as quelling apprehension on our end. Not to say it’s a done deal but I’d be surprised if based on how well the 2+ hour conversation went.

There’s some people here that just make shlt up to make themselves sound like insiders. That DiMare and Diaz Sr stuff is laughable. There are plenty of old-timers on the BOT, but they are mostly spectators, the ones that are driving this are the consequential members of the BOT, as you mentioned. The big boys as I call them.

Did he say that? I swear, 95% of this site didn't get above 800 on their SAT's given how bad reading comprehension is around here

We kept Blake and Coach L after the Adidas scandal. Why are people worried now about Jurich? Seems like excuse laying to be honest…

Again, "hiring" and "retaining" are two different issues. Two sets of standards.

We also "retained" Willie Williams after he signed with us. If all that stuff dropped six months earlier? Story might well have ended differently.

Lol cleared of all wrong doing. But a hurdle that needs to be overcome. Just say this school is ***** and call a spade a spade

Look at the threads on this board. The minute you cite "cleared of wrongdoing", you have a half-dozen porsters who swear to us that dozens of Louisville employees were paid to cover up what really happened, and that the exoneration of Jurich is simply a farce.

So I understand the need for a background check. How close we get to "didn't do it, we can hire him", I have no idea.
