Here's what I know

IMO Lane, Herman & Freeze are all interchangeable.

That’s why I’ve tried to explain a million times over in these threads it’s not Mario vs anti-Mario for me...

It’s one Philosophy vs another. The problem is, the moment you ask a question or even consider another possibility people immediately go into defense mode & make it as if you hate Mario, that’s where all the conflict is coming from.

All valid points. Very fair.

But what many people refuse to take into account is this. The primary reason why Mario is such a clearcut #1 frontrunner to get the job is NOT that his "philosophy" is so far ahead of anyone else's...

It's that Kiffin and Freeze (and a few others I could name) are nearly un-hireable by Miami. Period.

I realize that 80% of this board wants to argue "stats" and "playcalling" and "big game records" between Mario and Lane...but it's all moot. None of that really matters as much as certain people entrusting the face of the program and an $8 to 10 million salary, and an extra $20 to 30 million in the budget to a guy who doesn't have any blackout drunk/smokin' weed/call-girl/banging co-eds stories in his recent past.

Lane has had 15 years to realize that his immaturity and problematic proclivities will narrow his job choices, but he just keeps doing the same stuff over and over again. Sure, it would have been fun to see what his creative mind could conjure up at Miami...but you still have a majority of posters on this board who are going to act like Kiffin or Freeze lost out on the job for some "football philosophy" reasons. And for the record, I'm much more likely to believe that Freeze has changed his ways, as I highly doubt he is able to do the same stuff he once did now that he is working at Liberty.

I just received an update and this is very on point.

I was told that AD candidate and UM (frenks chosen ppl) did agree in principle to a deal.

And now, there is a civil war between the BOT members who care about sports and the old BOT who don't give a crap about sports but only UM appearance.

Shocker. And meanwhile, people can't seem to grasp that this same BOT probably never allows Kiffin to interview.

Let's not forget, when you first join the UM Board of Trustees, you are called a "Trustee". There are 52 "Trustees".

Then, when you've been on the Board of Trustees for a really long time, and stop being really productive, but you still have a vote, you become an "Emeriti Member". And there are 25 of those.

Plus there are Ex Officio members, but this is going to be a battle between some of the younger Trustees vs. the older Trustees and the Emeriti members. You know, the ones who still hate Butch.

The big positive is the young farts are the ones pushing for change and using a lot of their own money to pursue it. They’re willing to out their money where their mouths are.

The money thats been talked about being thrown around probably makes the people who don’t care about football sphincters pucker. That’s what calms my nerves when i get annoyed about it.

Absolutely. Nouveau riche is finally, finally displacing all the old Trustees who are still angry about Butch-to-Cleveland.

Who do the older BOT members want?! Seriously? Another year of Diaz and to rehire Blake James?

That's not entirely sarcasm unfortunately.

They definitely want Cuban Peter Griffin as the AD. And they want to pay Manny as little as possible until the top HC candidates with the best overall resumes are not guys with names like "Kiffin" and "Freeze" and "Orgeron" and "Leach" and "Mullen".

I like all the changes. But the Columbus Club seems edgy, from Mas Canosa's grandkid to Ruiz' SPAC to Lemonis to Lambert's Elite Wrestling. That is one handful of personalities, wow. ... While I agree with the moves, I would hope Frenk and this activist group find a way to get the rest of the board on the bus with them. Find a way for new blood and blue blood to declare victory together. We know these aren't one-time events.

Jose is Mas-Canosa's son. I was friends with him at UM, he's not some kid in his 20s.

How do u see all of this playing out.

Any and all smoke about Manny Sr or Dimare somehow being drivers in the decision making process are false. I said from the start this time was different and it is. Credit for that goes to both the CONSEQUENTIAL members of the BOT and to Frenk. It can’t be overstated the active role Frenk has played reference his putting trusted and knowledgeable voices around him to make things right.

A fantastic selling job has been done reference Jurich. We’ve assured him it’s his show and the resources he will have will be for to succeed. I can say he has had strong interest from the start when he was reached out to months ago. He also had reservations which seem to have been tabled for the most part. At the same time he’s had to be sold to some of the more influential dead weight that has their hands in the process as well.

The names kicked around by @DMoney have little care or concern for keeping or bringing in “Miami guys”. The nostalgia bs with them ran it’s course a very long time ago. Decades of lazy and incompetent hires are working in our favor.

And last but not least. The best thing that could have happen did when Mullen was fired by UF. It kicked the urgency level into overdrive and softened some of the more change resistant voices who are garnering less and less of Frenk’s ear. I can confirm Frenk and Jurich have spoken and that it went well as far as quelling apprehension on our end. Not to say it’s a done deal but I’d be surprised if based on how well the 2+ hour conversation went.
