Oh I agree it's a senior laden team but if he does win it you can't take that away from him because it's not like Ole Miss hasn't had senior laden teams before. Heck they had Eli and still didn't win 10 regular season games. I don't blame him for wanting out. You have to strike while the iron is hot and he definitely does not fit in with the Oxford crowd.

Sure maybe 1-2 a year like with literally every college football program in the nation (including Alabama this season if I may add, losing to Calzada was embarrassing), not 6
 
Sounds like the next AD is not going to have a say in who to hire as HC unless Mario turns us down.

I also don't see any scenario where Mario chooses to not come here.

He may like Oregon but lets be real... He is Cuban, this is the most Cuban city in the world... (yes including every city in Cuba) and he absolutely loves the Canes. And... Oregon sucks as a place to live especially if your Cuban.

He wants to be the South Beach Saban...

It’s way bigger than personalities.

I’m talking the reason why he was kicked to the curb so suddenly. Saying this guy has baggage is an understatement. Unlike Jurich i get some hesitancy with him.

Well, Lashlee must be super multi-dimensional because Mario wanted to hire him as his OC but Lashlee chose Miami over Oregon. TVD sure as heck isn't running a conservative run-first offense, unless my eyes have been lying to me for the past 5 weeks or so.

If Mario comes and manages to retain Lashlee, it will be the same offense we've seen TVD thrive in during the 2nd half of this season. Mario gives the O-line a massive shot in the arm which helps the run game, gives the passing game/OC/QB duties to Lashlee, and then makes a legit DC hire. We'd be cooking

Lashlee ANNOUNCES when a run is happening. “Here son, hold the ball WAY OUT HERE” and then he calls a “play action” that provides a fake by the QB that would make Dan Marino blush.

And before anyone tries to defend him…the mechanics of hand offs and play action were EXACTLY the same with King as they are with Van Dyke. Lashlee coaches it that way. He is total trash and Van Dyke has put lipstick on him. Just watch how TVD looks with competent coaching if/when we hire a real OC and not someone running a gimmick from a decade ago.

From what I see on the field, it looks like we rarely call designed running plays. Most of it is RPO which is why the handoff takes so long.

Exactly. And part of the reason I’m in the Mario camp is I think regardless of how high his stock goes if he has success here, he won’t always be looking for greener pastures. That’s Lane’s MO

Would we really wait all the way till January tho ? With recruiting and what not ? I know the class is pretty much shot but gotta convince some kids to wait till Feb and give him a chance to speak his peace
