Here's what I know on Mark Matthews...

If the kid goes to Texas am- he’s gona have to fly his parents/family to Texas for 6/7 games a year at a minimum vs his family takes an hour drive or less to his games here. So if the money is the same or less, he’ll come out loosing financially going to Texas am in travel $$ alone. Doesn’t make much sense logically
Some parents move cross country
South Florida for college station? If the whole family is moving just seems even more silly to move the family for 3 years and to then move again vs staying where you are.

I actually really enjoyed the Texas A&M game last year. The fans really were a pleasure. That said, the cultural shock from South Florida to there is something. And all those wannabe cadets cosplaying that they’re in the army is pretty weird.

My kid goes to Heritage and one of the football players shares the same agent as Mathews. I was told its about playing time. He is being promised to play as a Freshman. He is 98% gone is what he said. We already knew he was gone but that's the info that was shared with me.

Only thing I’ll say is the notion that he has to play for Miami because of his hometown is slightly hypocritical. If we want to land any national target, there’s going to be a school he was in close proximity to but still chooses Miami. So yeah we want to keep the local guys, but it’s not as if this doesn’t happen to everyone. Just so happens we have a higher volume of “local” targets

All hometowns are not equal.

Yeah he gone. Thats kinda wild though that its playing time when he is being brought in with tons of other OL there, just like here. We also lose a bunch of players after next year. We also have had true FR come in and start at Tackle so if he good enough, he would play regardless of who we got. Its more than that. Also i think this chap goes to Aquinas.

Never change South Florida kids….

- Hometown team ✅
- Coached by elite coach ✅
- OL Development ✅
- Top 10 Program ✅
- Bag ✅

Nope, don’t want that. Must go play for a historically mediocre program.

The SOFLA “handlers” would say “oh you gotta win first” “oh you gotta play on big stage” “oh you need to develop first round picks” …..still dont mean a thing. No group of elite players leave their home area at a higher rate than SOFLA.

Every cycle I keep saying watch how pipeline high schools in sfl magically stop becoming one once a 5 star is there. Keep recruitment national.

Why not go & Take the more receptive OT from Out of State instead of Matthew
That seems to want to Slap the Face of Miami ,Knowing Miami is widely Considered the best place to prepare you for the Pros?

If it was a safety, Corner , WR but an Offensive Tackle ? D Matthew were you not impressed by Three drafted how developed?

Markel Bell & Cooper are both testaments of the staff ability to Prepare.

Something is up with Matthew
Go Away if you don’t want this U.
💯
F em if he doesn’t want to stay
Don’t beg him
If he’s not going to be an impact until year 3
I’d rather move on to get a mentally tough SOB who wants to kill to be at Miami
