Here's what I know on Mark Matthews...

At this point, this “commitment” if indeed it is on Friday now just sounds like a Justin Scott situation all over again. Kid has changed his mind like three times these past two-three weeks so I doubt this recruitment is truly done whatever he ends up deciding on
Not really, Justin Scott wanted Miami and his mom wanted him closer to home he picked OSU, we upped the bag and got mom on board.

All these Ls coming up in the trenches, where everyone says Mario's spends on trench players lol
He has always missed a ton on trenches, lucky asf Bain was there at the time he was there. He gets some and then if he doesn't he goes to the portal. Thankfully some of his guys he recruited weren't better than Bain and Mesidor so it did not hit as hard that we missed. If those misses become stars it hurts but we wont know till we see it on the field. I wanted Stewart and Simmons and McCray bad but I think only 2 of those have performed. Bain and Mesidor eased the pain on those misses but now they are gone.

Some of these schools are on the PR warpath right now, particularly a couple were going to head to head with a lot in A&M and ND. Both teams, and especially ND are P ISSED at how 2025 ended up and are unbelievably aggressive on the trail. The DT from Chicago, not surprising, losing MM sucks, no other way to spin it but Mario has proven a few times when things looks bleak in spring/summer he somehow shocks the s hit out of us at the end so we’ll see how it all turns out.

Yea they go after so many heavy hitters the miss a lot like you mentioned. Only good thing is they land a few killers that hit big time to offset the losses. Like the 3 five star d-line guys years ago massive hits to make us forget about the guys we missed on last cycle. Same if we land DJ Jacobs this cycle everyone will forget about everyone else

Facts, big hits will make you forget about who you lost. But if they dont perform and the others do thats when it hurts.

Welll we could up the Olu bag to make Nd have to pay big to get him and the DT . We’re Fckihg around wtfh Mathews which is a STA implant .

Look at who we got in last years class/portal. Ya'll think that was cheap :pgdead:
I'm just talking about this week only missing on Olu, Matthew's, and Folo is wicked 3 five star talents in the trenches. I'm sure we bounce back someway come July August after OV season

Mario might miss on some lineman but he hits more than any other coach in CFB. It’s a fact that we have more 5 star linemen than any program in college football. Alabama, Georgia and Texas in that order trail Miami.

And the big difference is that our 5 stars actually played like 5 stars. Unlike some of those other teams.

Facts he definitely hits, those 3 five star d-line guys from years ago are already getting 1st rd buzz

We miss because we go after the top guys. We do get ours but with all the different things we have to go against you aren't get every top kids nowadays. NIL, SEC bias, handlers, etc.

I would say we have never recruited better in the trenches under Mario all things considered.

At this point, just add Folo and flip Jacob’s, then add some “developmental” pieces on Oline. No reason to really spend the next few months trying to flip this kid
