Here's what I know on Mark Matthews...

I think Matthews is being severely impacted by Cantwell starting at LT. Say what you want but if you put Matthews on a lie detector I think he would admit that he wants to play LT in college and he knows he will not play the position at UM. He may not play LT at TAMU either, but at least they can promise him that he will. UM can’t even effectively lie because it’s obvious with Cantwell where he will be playing for 3 years barring injury.

And for the crowd that thinks position on the Oline should not matter, well that’s easy for you to say. But it may matter a lot to Matthews. And if it does, I don’t think even Mario can close this deal.

Isn’t he an RT in high school?

Being an RT for two years then switching to LT your last year gives him the same or higher chance of being a top 7 pick than if he was an LT for three years.

I’m minimizing risk over whatever good vibes I’m getting at Ass2Mouth and choosing Miami.

You think part of the reason JSmith chose OSU is because of great vibes in Columbus? It was purely a business decision.

You those five stars chose Bama because of Tuscaloosa?

For whatever reason he likes those weirdos over the paradise of Coral Gables.

So to me the play is they develop too but why not go with the more sure thing and make a business decision?

If that's the case why is he going to wait then Mr know it all! Commit to A&M already!
 
My pitch (other than the obvious Oline coaching/player pedigree and Francis Top 10 at RG) is be Matthews and Cantwell would bring so much attention to eachother. Like Bain and Mesidor. All the talk will be about those two bookend sure fire first rounders from day 1. And with Mario and Mirobal behind them? Stupid easy maximum trajectory in every way imaginable.

Would be unbelievable.

I can’t recall which interview it was but it came off as pretty clear that he wants to play LT in college. I’m sure he’s been told it’s the big $$ position on the Oline. Whether true or not that is certainly the perception of many.

He would have his one year of film at LT and that one year will make him a top 5 pick imo. When JC leaves and is a top 5 pick MM will take over and be a top 5 pick. The staff will be truthful and tell him this cause this is the pitch, and they will guarantee him it imo. It’s the only logical pitch and you come off as honest and if he wants to stay RT after two years there is that as well. Regardless you become a first rounder.

Well he can say the spot will be open that is one guarantee. He will probably say he will give him the opportunity to take it. The spot being open is a guarantee with JC going to the league. I get what you saying though, but that is the pitch

Maybe , I can seek reparations since I missed out an all this bag 💼 and NIL back in the mid 70’s recruiting when we got nothing .
