Here's a DC name I was told a while back, reviewing live

Seems like a reach on many levels:
1. Richt fired him;
2. He has the same job at a good program;
3. Hasn't done good enough at UT to deserve a $1M+ paycheck, which is what it would probably take to take him from UT.

Starting to think its going to be Van Gorder....all that talent they lose next year....and Kelly will take a NFL job

Read too quickly, thought I saw Darth Vader instead of Van Gorder.......was like, either one will probably work.

Jancet just got a 40,000 raise from Tn, currently makes 515,000. Martinez makes about 350000. Jancet is a possibility, pretty good background. If he likes Richt probably could get him for 750.

Some Vols fan have a problem with him playing so much man. He'll challenge the QB to make throws throughout the game. Watching his D against Northwestern right now. I've haven't seen any zone coverage really.

I recall early in the season Vols' fans had concerns about the play of the DL. Apparently the DL couldn't generate enough pressure to compliment all the man coverage(s).

I don't watch much of Tennessee.
The one game I did watch in earnest was their early season game against Bowling Green, and that got lit up.
Then again, Dino Baber's BG squad had a legit offense.

I guess what everyone wants to know is what does he run. Here's what he rocked at Cincy:

Weaknesses of the 4-3 BLunder:

1. You need FOUR good defensive backs.

2. Your Strong OLB has to be good enough to both play the run (& TE), & drop off to cover.

3. Hard to get pressure when ball's on the hash to field side.

4. Not really good vs. PA or run outside to the strong (TE) side.

Dalvin Cook vs 4-3 BLunder:

Love you Lu, but man these are some stinker ideas lately.

BVG got absolutely rocked today as well. Either of these guys would be a terrible hire.

Richt is batting 1.000 right now though, so I trust him to get it right. He is nailing it right now.

UT's defense gave up 35.7 points per game the year before Jancek arrived. They gave up 29 in his first year, 24.2 in his second year, and 20 ppg this year.

His first year he was 84th in ypg. Then 35th.....then 46th. In his third year.

Does anyone think BC or Wisky have more talent than Tenn? And yet in those dudes third year, their defenses are the best in show.
