I'd agree with a lot of what you said with the exception of Desmond Howard. I think that dude actually tries to modify his own Wikipedia page to say he played for Miami.

Yes there are a tiny few that respect us. Desmond some (remember he’s still a Michigan man), and there are a tiny few that are truly all in as canes by choice, much like most of our fan base which are canes by choice, mostly from south Florida and a some outside of here. But as far as the media or general popular culture, it’s a tiny few, like Marcus Lemonis, or Chuck Todd. That’s it.

One of the VERY few things Lebatard has ever said right about UM is that Miami (and their fans) has a persecution complex.....but it's deserved.

But you're right in your notion that us looking to the national media for approval or even fairness is a pointless endeavor and one not to rage about. I just wish that our fanbase sometimes wouldn't instead apply that apathy to things like the rankings though as a collective pushback on slights our way will eventually be needed- maybe (God willing) not this year but one day in this current system if we're consistently relevant.

I’ve been wearing my []_[] cap all semester, with faculty and students laughing, including football student-athletes. Last week I wore my Chain T-shirt to class. More strange looks. We are already so far ahead of where we should be in year 2 if people aren't shut up now they never will be. If we get to the playoffs this season I won't complain even if we lose the semi final 40-20 or something as we are on our way. Next season we are a top 2 team and 2019 might be a Canes legend.
