Ive dealt with Covid patients since hit S Fla... Ive been exposed 5 times and tested 10 times. My family members have had it.

I found all this out because my 3 kids and their 2 significant others are all in the 25-34 age group. But being COMPLETELY freaked out by it.

I wanted to see facts, not propaganda either way.

It works out that they have a .00002 chance of dying with covid in their system. Not necessarily FROM it, but just positive FOR it.

Social Media and other media sources don't get down to facts.

And, for the record, I've had and have serious health issues that make me a likely victim of it--- so I'm not discounting it's seriousness for me.

He might still have gotten it. Not enough time after exposure for one test to reveal. He could be asymptomatic and spread it to his colleagues. It’s the correct thing to do.

I was trying to determine if the lack of nationwide healthcare in the us is a discernable cause for the racial disparity in outcomes versus individuals who's ancestry is significantly from the continent of Europe.

Surprisingly, data says national healthcare (like in the uk) is not a cure for this particular issue.

Yes. Because of the potentially long incubation period, it can take a while for the disease to show in the blood. Particularly if ur just testing for the antigen, which is notoriously unreliable and always followed up with a PCR test to confirm a positive result.

Or because he caught it after his latest test. You don't know what happened.

It is generally accepted that you may or may not test positive until 5 days after exposure, but generally speaking, after around 5 days after exposure you should test positive using the more reliable PCR test.

By the way, none of this is an exact and predictable science yet. Scientist are still arguing amongst themselves about the most reliable form of transmission for this virus.

There is much controversy amongst the scientists themselves as to mode and frequency of transmission.

Also, if you’re going to quote science, make sure you use the word incubation correctly. Incubation refers to the period between when you become infected and then become symptomatic (assuming you are going to become symptomatic, which is not 100% with this virus). Has nothing to do with whether you test positive or not. You could be in the “incubation” period and test positive. Or not.

You might want to look into the science yourself.

Let's just put this nonsense to rest.

According to Emily Landon, MD, an epidemiologist and infectious diseases specialist at the University of Chicago Medicine, the COVID-19 contagion takes at least three to five days after exposure to test positive. Given the lack of reliability for results, "a negative test shouldn't be seen as your ticket to stop being cautious".

"We don't know how good these tests are in individuals who don't have symptoms. We know they're pretty good at picking up COVID when it's present in people who HAVE symptoms. But we have no idea what a negative test means in an individual that DOESN'T have symptoms."

Furthermore, some people can test positive, then negative, then positive again. "Hospitals often test people with symptoms twice to try to be more certain about the finding."

Understand now? Herbie has no symptoms. His negative tests may mean nothing. So instead of behaving like an orange, reality-show host clown, He's quaratining so as not to put Lee Corso in an early grave.

Personally, I could care less if every no-masker got sick and died. Natural selection at its finest.
