I was walking to my car this morning in the hot soupy South Florida humidity and got a spider web stuck across my forehead. I was irked.
People think bringing a DC would help
False, Golden was going to run his defense no matter who was here
No. He decomitted.Obviously Michigan pulled out ...
This. Seems like people are so in their feelings for Diaz they're forgetting how bad the Golden era as a whole actually was. Better than Diaz is the lowest bar possible. It wasn't just no D. Golden's offensive evals were terrible too. Wasn't he the joker who didn't want Amari Cooper to play WR?!Not that it would make much of a difference, but Manny should've been honest with himself. He should've realized that he's not a great developer of talent and his defensive scheme has holes. He should've hired an up and coming DC to completely revamp the unit he was in charge of when he became HC.
But, the problem is similar to Golden. Everyone thought if D'Onofrio got fired, everything would've been good. In the end, the program went as Golden steered it - right into the ground. Diaz is similar in some respects. I personally think Golden was the better coach looking back (which is telling because Golden was bad). But Manny Diaz has zero good qualities as a coach.
May have been me ....and i saw him the most on the board at the time.I think it was @Liberty City El who said when we recruited Herbert: "let's not."
He predicted the kid would be a non-factor at any P5 program, much less UM.
Díaz will follow suit. He will be a DC at USF and fail miserably there.Just for accuracy, Houston DID touch D'Onofrio after he left. But then again, also for accuracy, D'Onofrio wrote a great letter to Major Applewhite that really helped him get that job...
Strong pull out game. Trust me, I know things.Obviously Michigan pulled out ...
No, they stopped calling. He understood the message.No. He decomitted.
Yeah I do remember you telling the board to slow down on the excitement for both Herbert and Slaton from AH that year. That they were overrated. I dont think Herbert ever played a meaningful snap in his 4 years here. Smh. That was a super trash eval by the staff.May have been me ....and i saw him the most on the board at the time.
I knew what I saw and didnt expect much until his jr szn likely and stated this. Had nooo feet and knock knees
No he decomitted. He was a soft commitment to them anyways. No, they stopped calling. He understood the message.
