Herbert was a brutish fossil, symbolic of a decayed era gratefully forgotten. But he's just another recent recruit who left the program early, and it's clear that Diaz has failed in developing a culture by plugging holes with mercenary transfers. The players would rather their boy N'Kosi Perry was still here instead of King, but they don't get to make those decisions.
It's probably asking a lot but it would be nice to have a few years of sustained good recruiting classes with few defections. 2020 and 2021 are hanging tough but continuing to play favorites will lead to more players exiting this dumpster fire before the next guy takes over I'm afraid. However, it's not too late to reverse the trend and keep the 2020-21 kids from transferring the **** out of here. PLAY THE FRESHMEN!
This is ALL that remains from the 3 classes of HS recruits that preceded the current regime (2019 is still considered Richt's imo).
31 players out of 85 on the current roster were recruited out of HS and signed with Miami pre-2020. That number should be closer to 55-60.
