Herb Waters to CB

Love seeing kids from the U get a paycheck after all the **** they had to deal with while Golden was here. Good for him.
 
Hope he sticks with it.

Whitt is a great coach and Waters has the perfect skillset to excel. He's long, fluid, has good feet and can run.
 
As Canes fans, we all live to make comparisons between current and former Canes. We can all finally say...

















Herb Waters..... Kind of reminds me of Sam Shields. :fox:

WOW!! I'm glad to hear he's getting a check, but **** I didn't see this coming. I thought he was going to sneak in the league like ALlen Hurns.
 
What's concerns me is Shields having a concussion again. I hope his career isn't shortened by this
 
Waters should have been on defense from the start. He has always looked more natural on defense. I would have tried him at safety here as well. Props to [MENTION=2]DMoney[/MENTION] for calling it. I do think that with better coaching Waters could have been a much better and more polished WR here but thats history now. Just another under coached and underdeveloped South Florida gem in Fat Al's bargain bin.

Sure did. Sam didn't agree with RS's decision to move to CB. RS was right.

Randy had one thing right -- speed. He like it and we had a lot of it under him. I recall Sam has hands problems early on. Glad RS moved him and wish he had earlier. I believe we use to favor the D with the best talent and then move them to offense as needed. I think Eddie Brown was DB who made the move to other side. I expect a lot more Cane defensive players will be heading to NFL now that we are back to Cane defense.

You deserve credit on this one. Brought it up since HS and the first time you told me you watched him.
 
Someone correct me if Im wrong but... didnt golden recruit Herb Waters but not someone else from his same HS class that also wanted to be a Cane? I remember it being a big deal. If so, who was it?

Ricardo Williams I believe. Golden did recruit him though and he committed. It was a big deal bc randy didn't recruit him. He ended up Transferring
