### UM coach Al Golden today was asked if anyone has solidified himself as a starter on offense. He mentioned Brad Kaaya, then stopped and said only one more name, perhaps one that not many people would have expected: receiver Herb Waters.

“Herb Waters has had a tremendous camp. I’m really proud of his consistency right now,” Golden said.

I always thought Herb would be a helluva a receiver for us. Good for him!

Maybe Scott hasn't done what he should be doing in camp so far...we haven't heard much from him this Fall. And he wasn't overwhelming in the Spring game. Wouldnt surprise me if the top 3 right now were...Waters, Coley, Berrios. With Scott and Lewis still fighting..

Waters has ability. Consistancy is his problem. He has everything else and he has proven it since his Tr-Fr year. Its not like we haven't seen what he can do potentially if the light stays on for him.

If he cant get motivation by seeing his boys Allen Hurns and Dorsett ballin right now in the league..(two guys who he has to be saying he was just as good as)...I don't know what to tell him.

Does Njoku get any burn rock? I think you may have Dobard about 3/4 spots low. Agree with Yearby catching a lot out of the backfield.

Kayaa's favorite target seems to be berrios. Barring injury think he will have more catches than anybody else on the team.

Replaced Dobard with Njoku

I don't think Dobard will be asked to do anything besides block.

Do you opine that would be to keep Dobard from having a monster year and jumping to the league?

I think we have only been hearing what UM wants us to hear. The truth/reality is far from what we have heard.

These are the top 4, and it really does not matter which order. One of these guys will get hurt or drop the ball, and that will open things up for Lewis and Cager. The schedule this year is really perfect for this team early. You rarely get the ramp up we are afforded. By FSU, we'll know who the go to guys are at every position. First game doesn't give you that, but it's a live scrimmage. 2nd game, tests a little more and is not a scrimmage. 3rd game, you get a real team in your house to tighten things up and show what you got. Then you go to FSU. Everyone here should know how this will play out, we are going to look like a top 25 team in September. Golden keeps or loses his job the rest of the way. If we are going to lose a bunch of games, it's going to happen in the back 2/3 of the season. If we do, he's gone. If we don't that means we won 8 games or more so and he lives. He keeps his job with 8 wins as long as most of the losses aren't in the back half of the season.

Like it matters who the "starter" is on this team. Half the time he lists Dallas Crawford as a starting safety, then pulls him 3 plays into the game. We rotate people more than any team I've ever seen, so who the **** cares about these "Black Jerseys" anymore?

I'll put Scott #1 and Berrios #2 . I feel more comfortable that Berrios will produce. Scott needs to stay healthy - I honestly can't remember which year was the last one he was healthy. But I think he's pretty good when he is healthy....

MORE DIG ROUTES, PLEASE.

R. Scott and Waters should roam the middle of the field this year. If Coley can't evolve to find the right combinations and execute these from the route tree, it will be the biggest indictment of his inability to grow into a real Coordinator.

He has the QB to find WRs between defenders. Kaaya's biggest problems last year were: (1) movement in and around the pocket (possibly because he was heavy and his core seemed too weak to climb the pocket) and (2) hitting between horizontal defenders (like two LBs at the same level), as opposed to vertical ones (like a S and a LB). In order for this offense to convert 3rd downs more consistently, we cannot go into a shell when teams go into more complex zone coverages.

The key to this, in my opinion, is the intermediate passing game - where Scott and Waters should be hitting on the slant and square in-type patterns I've been waiting for since Morris and Scott connected a bit a few years back.
