You bring up a good point about utilization. I know rooster has not been fully healthy, but when he has been on the field we haven’t used him properly at all.Good back. Glad to have him. Lacks the speed to be in the top 4 in the country. He's been effective, but he's a good player, not elite. He's excelled here because he is one of the few guys we've used properly.
My dumb *** was scratching my head when we signed him.![]()
I’m one that doesn’t put Lashless on the same level as some of the offensive geniuses we see around the country. Was this applicable last yr?.... Because........
Addison got paid and gets to play in an offense that throws to him. There was 0.0% chance he was coming here no matter what we offeredIf we spent all our portal money on Addison instead of everyone we got I'd like our chances.
You can say this for the vast majority of our players so far. It's like we are misusing them to prove a point or something. You bring up a good point about utilization. I know rooster has not been fully healthy, but when he has been on the field we haven’t used him properly at all.
Exactly get the RB's the ball in space. Usually a good gain break a tackle turns into a big gain. Create mismatches. It would matter and factor plenty if our OC properly schemed the rb's into the passing game
I’m waiting for them to play Knighton as a blocking fullback and then blame his “execution” when he gets steam rolled. You can say this for the vast majority of our players so far. It's like we are misusing them to prove a point or something.
You're not wrong, but the sample size is too small for me to take anything from it. Let me see rooster healthy and play in all 4 quarters of a meaningful game first and see how they utilize him. When he has played all we have asked him to do is run between the tackles. He had 14 carries and 1 reception vs A&M. We're not giving him the ball in space where he excels.
We could attempt an 80 yard FG with Borregales and the coaches and this board would say he needs to kick it harder and want it more after it falls short.I’m waiting for them to play Knighton as a blocking fullback and then blame his “execution” when he gets steam rolled.
Probably but I'd still trade everyone we got for him which was my point.Addison got paid and gets to play in an offense that throws to him. There was 0.0% chance he was coming here no matter what we offered
If only RB mattered more in 2022. No WR = lost season don't @ me.
According to PFF

Where are you getting the 0.1 figure? Somebody replied to an earlier post about that and it showed 0.6 YPCYou mean this seasons running game that is averaging 0.1 ypc more than last years?
3.4 - 3.3 = 0.1Where are you getting the 0.1 figure? Somebody replied to an earlier post about that and it showed 0.6 YPC
He caught 21 passes in 13 games at Ole Miss last year. I wouldn't say he caught plenty of passes last year. That's 1 more than Knighton who played 8 games(zero receptions his first game) and many feel he still wasn't utilized in the passing game enough last year.Anybody can pull my receipts and see I'm President of the Hank Parrish Fan Club, but yeah I know most fans are going to remember that drop in the A&M game forever. Good thing is he's got chances to atone for it.
And he's a fine receiving back, by the way. He caught plenty of passes at Ole Miss. But that one in College Station was rather large, for sure. Very well might have scored on that play.
Absolutely wild to me (although it should be expected at this point?) that we were all thinking in July that we'd have one of the very best RB rooms in the country, and we're exactly a month into the season and it looks like a bomb went off in there. Just ridiculous. Every single kid has gotten hurt except Thad and we're a third of the way through the season.
