And this shouldn’t be a surprise to those who are knowledgeable.
Names almost always get floated out by the other side to either get a raise or get a job.

Someone on either Clemson’s staff or bama’s staff was the 1st choice. Was it Enos? Not sure.

But I think the “fedora and applewhite and the others to UM” was more their camp floating that out there than manny’s interest in them.

Manny’s interviews implied he was waiting for games to finished and the only game left was bama/Clemson.

Your source is the Manny Diaz statement., I'd say that's pretty reliable.

Diaz on the press call told reporters that this had been locked in for "more than a few days", but Enos wanted to wait for this specific date to announce (for whatever reason he didn't give us)

Okay, I been trashing Manny since he got the job so I'm going to take this as a chance to say good. He did better than I expected. He got a Bama coach. Is he best out there. **** NO. But anyone who thought Manny was going to do better laces their Cuban with more than tobacco. I going be happy for a couple days because February and then the season are coming and I don't expect it to be pretty/
