I mean look at the positions of need and what we did in the portal.U just look at portal rankings and complain about not the #1 at every position.
Again, u just look at portal rankings. Ur idea of building a roster after every season is to add a top #5 player from the portal at each position. We play a 4-2-5, and have a 6th yr and 8th yr coming back with 2 talented players, Wiley and Bonner, next up. Is it really a priority to add a top LB from the portal, I say no. We have plenty of talented Safeties and added a couple from the portal, do we really need to spend an arm & a leg on Perich, no. Theres 2 5 stars tackles on the team, one that’s going into is 4th yr. The only reason our 6’5 5 stars tackle with a 6’10 wingspan hasn’t gotten a lot of burn at LT, is due to his injury in 2023 and Miami having 1, potentially 2 NFL OL in front of him. So do we need to spend an arm and leg on Seaton, no. Would it have been cool to get all of these guys, sure. That’s not how they have ever recruited the portal though. You mentioned a whole bunch of names that sounds good, doesn’t mean they wanted to be here, doesn’t mean they were needed, and doesn’t mean they would have fit. I could care less about the TEs, they could be better. We made it to the championship with that room and the floor will be the same this year.I mean look at the positions of need and what we did in the portal.
QB-> Hit (but likely overpriced when Raiola or Bailey would have been much cheaper)
WR -> Hit
LT -> Whiff
DE -> Hit
LB -> Super Whiff (not only did we not get one but lost a contributor in Popo)
TE -> Whiff, although we don't seem to have really tried here so hard to judge
Nickel/DB -> Hit, but sub-optimal
So we will go 4/7 on filing needs with the caveat that at QB we overpaid and at Nickel we didn't get the optimal outcome (Perich would have been much better than Thornton). I think that qualifies as a B grade which all things considered isn't bad given the calendar limitations we had to deal with given the deep playoff run.
I would argue if you get Raiola for ~2 million you don't downgrade much at QB relative to Mensah (remember he played in the BIG, while Mensah played in the weak ACC) you can certainly outbid LSU for Seaton, and arguably have a shot at outbidding UT for Biles and/or maybe Oregon for Perich. Granted we would lose Barkate in the scenario we don't go after Mensah so that is worth something, although I would take Seaton any day over a WR.

Based off your logic we really shouldn’t recruit highschool. We should only be bringing in experience, productive players everytime a player declares for the draft. If a player doesn’t get a lot of burn freshman or sophomore year they will have no chance of contributing once the draft eligible player they were behind leaves for the draft.
Who cares what anyone says or thinks. Be a cane, not a *****they will cook us on twitter if duke wins the acc with Mensah and barkate and we can't
lawd please fix these tie breakers
Good thing they’re not going to winWho cares what anyone says or thinks. Be a cane, not a *****
If we took Seaton and Raiola over Mensah and Barkate, we probably don’t make the playoffs.I mean look at the positions of need and what we did in the portal.

your first problem was logging intoyet we aren't listed in the top 25 on ESPN, so is it bias or are we lame?
I don't care who we play, I just want to win!I want a NC rematch next year![]()
Some of the best experiences of my youth were inducement to injury by attractive nuisances.I get it. And I think you have a good claim for inducement to injury by way of Attractive Nuisance because the average poster on CIS opens a Fraggle thread hoping to watch a train wreck.![]()
Davis is a DT got it! Thank youThe staff has added DTs Keona Davis from Nebraska and Jarquez Carter from Ohio State.
Lofton and Gilbert are fine! The freshman we flipped is legit. Room is fine for 26I did not realize his waiver was denied. We was pretty good at Tulane with Mensah. Regressed under Woodiel.
I am astonished that Tight End U has become our least effective position group and includes an injured halfback (Lofton), an injured project who I don't believe has ever seen the field (Carver), a RS freshman who didn't play meaningful snaps last year and looked awkward the few snaps he took (Gilbert) and 2 true freshmen. And the guy I thought had the best Schott at being playoff caliber transferred to Indiana.
How you can make an argument about Bailey or Raiola over Mensah is mind boggling.I mean look at the positions of need and what we did in the portal.

You're a Maude. You should know better than to feed the troll.How you can make an argument about Bailey or Raiola over Mensah is mind boggling.
First, did you actually watch all 3 play last season? I have to assume you saw Bailey get his a*s handed to him by UM
Raiola has been straight garbage every season. An over hyped, over priced mediocre QB who thinks he is special. The best thing that happened to UGA was Raiola switching his commitment to Nebraska. Mensah put up great numbers for Duke. A team coached by Manny Diaz!
Second, what in the world does the price matter? NIL has no salary cap. UM and its NIL partners can spend as much money as they want. Revenue sharing does not impact NIL, so whether UM pays 2 million for a QB or 4 million, it makes no difference. College football is closer to MLB than the NFL. We are the Dodgers. Do you think they sign a less expensive player, or sign the best player? They sign the best because they want to win and they are not stupid.
Third, UM’s spend on Mensah had no impact on on any other position.
So knowing all this, what was the problem in spending more money and getting the best QB available?
