Congrats to OP for making MBG
I didn't say I give AF about what the guys do on their time. Just pointing out, some of our best partied even while winning BIG.But he performed in some of UMs BIGGEST games...don't give af about his (and many more Canes) going to clubs in the 80s...Bottomline is....they performed unbelievably on the Grand stage...
Goldens 2013 teamJesus. How soon you forget five and a half seasons of Al Golden backing Mark D'Onofrio and a slow-as-molasses 3-4 defense that almost destroyed the career of players like Anthony Chickillo.
We get it. Not the idea start for Mario, but enough with the hyperbole four games in with this possibly being "the worst".
He went to others besides Club Manhattan.
Decent response. ThanksI'm a teacher in an urban area and it's really hard to get them to understand that there's a whole other world out there. Mario has one thing going for him and that's he went through it. He's got to find that right mix of local that have that want and out-of-state that brings in a new group of players/friends/culture.
I'm well aware....I partied with many in the 90s....I didn't say I give AF about what the guys do on their time. Just pointing out, some of our best partied even while winning BIG.
Not hyperbole at all. I think this offensive scheme is worse then Golden/No D’s defensive scheme.Jesus. How soon you forget five and a half seasons of Al Golden backing Mark D'Onofrio and a slow-as-molasses 3-4 defense that almost destroyed the career of players like Anthony Chickillo.

Did the team move and didn't tell usI've been thinking about the Canes and I think I might be able to understand why we've been so bad over the past 20 years. . Miami is a major city and these kids are not putting in the work. Schools like Bama, UGA are in some BS town and there is nothing to do but play or practice football. The way we've recruited and the results we've had doesn't add up. What are your thoughts on this? Am I reaching or what? Miami and social media could just be to much and these kids aren't putting in nearly the work as they should?
The worst hires of all time, in most cases. Repeatedly hiring a failing coordinator from a failed regime...criminalNo. We've made cheap and lazy hires for 20 years straight now. That's the issue. You can't hire bad coaches and expect to get good results. Not consistently.
Larry Coker, 1st time HC that didn't deserve the job. Was handed the keys to a Ferrari. Drove it into a tree real quick. Was out of coaching for 10 years before being the HC at UTSA. Clearly not highly thought of for this to occur.
Randy Shannon, 1st time HC from a failed regime. Didn't deserve the job. Failed, never saw another HC opportunity again. Bounced around as a position coach and DC at various schools. Obviously not thought of highly enough to ever get another HC opportunity.
Al Golden, not a 1st time coach, had a better resume, but never really got Temple over the hump. Was better, but had an absolutely awful defensive scheme. After being fired he was a position coach for years and just not got a DC opportunity again. Obviously not good enough to get another HC job still.
Mark Richt. Finally a good coach. Too bad he was at the end of his career and major health issues sped up his decline as a coach. No coincidence he has our only double digit win season, ACCCG appearance, and bowl win in the last near two decades. Retired due to major health reasons. Good coach, we got him passed him prime.
Manny Diaz. See Randy Shannon.
If Miami was bringing in proven coaches one after another and they kept failing, you might be onto something. Clearly that isn't the case. We've made consistent poor hires and had results that matched. Imagine owning a business and for 20 years straight you hired a bunch of unqualified managers that other competing businesses would never offer their management positions to. You think you'll have a successful business?
Mario has had a terrible start and clearly needs to make some adjustments. It's 4 games in, so you can't say what his career here will end up like, but if he continues to be completely stubborn on the offensive side of the ball and run a scheme that is significantly dated and has been phased out by anyone decent or better, he'll flame out also, and once again, it will be because of incompetence at the head level, not because of players.
