Hayden Lowe..

I'm guessing Marty Brown. Hope I'm wrong.
I sure hope not. The love affair the staff + media seem to have with Lyle has been frustrating. Outside of 1 run against USF he has been beyond underwhelming as a back. He can pass pro which is great don’t get me wrong but his natural ability at runningback has not popped in 2 years of a good amount of carries. Last year being brutal to watch.

As it stands Marty is a significantly better back than Lyle. So is Pringle even though hes more limited due to size.

Not really Cantwell specific. A poster vaguely mentioned a starting OL would miss some time. Then Lake and Danny both made it a point to say Samson would get a look at LT. So people have decided this means Cantwell is out for a bit. We’ll see.

It's a deep RB room but there isn't another back on the roster that brings the added dimension that Pringle provides. Losing Pringle would be a kick to the nuts.

That one seems pretty obvious.

We have 6 RB's, only 2 will get the bulk of the carries, with a 3rd RB maybe getting less than 100 carries.

No inside info, but my guess is CWH probably moves & possibly whoever loses out on the RB3 battle between Pringle, Lyle & Mallory could consider leaving as well.

With the new 5 to play 5 rule, if you're spending multiple seasons on the bench at RB, it's quite literally affecting your draft trajectory & earning potentiality. So, I would imagine RB's aren't going to be as patient as they may have been in the past.
Pringle already tried to leave once

Whatever we did to convince him to come back was going to have repercussions imo. Either he gets more carries and someone else is left out, or he doesn’t and he bolts anyway

Yep. Always thought it was odd we kept our RB room intact. I mean it's great, but it didn't make sense for all to stay.

He got hurt in the first quarter of the first game last year.

5 yard run on the first play of our first drive.
5 yard run on his 2nd carry.
Got stuffed on 3rd and 2 (happened a good bit for us last year)
Got hurt on his next carry
Didn't play for the next 5 weeks

I'm not caping for the kid. But this is very much like what some of yall did to Bain in 2024. Just totally writing a kid off as a loser after a serious injury in the first game of the season. I will absolutely admit Bain showed much more in his true freshman year than Lyle did in his, but they're similar situations and reactions from this fanbase. And it's dumb.

This is SO stupid, because it takes talent to have a 91 yard touchdown in a college football game, but even if you take that run away, Lyle still averaged 5.83 yards per carry as a true freshman. Mark Fletcher, who some are calling the best back in the entire country, averaged 4.90 yards per carry his true freshman year. And then 5.42 as a sophomore. And then 5.52 as a Junior.

I know yall are supreme talent evaluators, but the amateurs at On3 had him as the #1 back in the country coming out of high school. The clowns at Rivals had him at #3. And the buffoons on our coaching staff started him in Game 1 last year, after watching him compete all camp with the aforementioned Fletcher, and Brown, and Pringle.

Throw in the towel at your own risk.

My guess is Lyle and CWH will hit the bricks
As of very recent, Lowe was good to go from what I was told. This would be a shock. I’ll ask the kids on the team I know and see what they say and what I’m allowed to say. Same with the OL rumor.
IDK about any RB stuff, but that would be the least of my concern with the depth we have there.

Agreed. I'd have never bet in a million years that all these kids would be on the roster right now, if you'd have asked me at the end of last season. So if one wants to bounce, it's what I fully expected anyway.

We know Fletcher isn't going anywhere. I don't *want* any of the other kids to leave, but it doesn't really matter which one it is, assuming if it does happen, it's only one kid.

Fletcher, Marty, Lyle, Mallory is an insane room
Fletcher, Lyle, Pringle, Mallory is an insane room

You get the point.

Why not? You don’t have to rush for 1500 yards to get drafted. Fletcher already has showed what he can do as the lead guy in big games. Brown still had another year to use. Lyle still has 2 years left after this year and Pringle has 3. They are going to use at least 3 of the those guys

Just shows you how much these kids are bought into the culture. They're all hungry. Lyle wants to prove everyone wrong and take that RB1 spot back. Pringle probably feels like he's next up and wants to have a huge role this year

Only guessing but Mallory has taken someones spot... he was getting too much praise to be the 5th string RB. Pringle obviously already hopped in the portal once, Lyle who tf knows, Def not Fletch and Brown I guess would be a surprise as he kinda knew where he was, largely a backup to Fletch so the room to him is no different than before UNLESS Mallory jumped him.

Yeah, I am with you on that. I am shocked we kept them all and also shocked one of them would leave at this point in the timeline and not wait till end of season. I will need more credible word before I send one of them packing. I just am a huge fan of Marty and would be super bummed if we ever lost him. He made monster plays for us in the clutch moments all season. But no need to panic when we don't have any definite info yet I guess.

Is there any real legs to this Rb rumor or just a poster being dumb?
I think it's a poster being dumb. I saw a bunch of pictures of the Rbs from the media shoot come out yesterday. Heck, Brown posted them less than 24 hours ago on twitter. Pringle also posted on his Instagram story less than 24 hours ago

@grok is Geo a *****?
I’m Hoping Geo got bad info , he is usually on point. How ever it’s very strange Mario Mentions Lowe & The Head Man doesn’t know the Whole story.

I’m sure has nothing to do with the law & it Maybe a University Matter like a student code of Ethics he may have broken.

It’s disappointing for Lowe these Kids
Surprised nobody is asking questions about the RB nugget dropped a few pages ago.
what Rb nugget? Haven’t been on here in a while

Agreed. I’m not writing Lyle off. He has potential to be our best back. It may or may not happen but a lot of people could be eating their words here soon about Lyle. Along with his injury I don’t think they were running him the right way last season. All of our running backs were kind of lackluster when we were just trying to pound the ball up the middle every single play. And everyone knew that’s all we were going to do. There was zero creativity with the running game for a long period of time last year.
