So next game is going to be ACC vs SEC

Canes have had Big12 refs and SEC refs.

Do we assume we will see a BIG 10 crew?

Hope so. B1G crews call the fewest penalties and officiate games very similar to what we’ve seen so far in the playoffs.

I agree it’s much better, but I also think the acc refs would also be told to let them play more than usual with this being the playoffs. I think just about every pro league let’s more stuff go in the playoffs

McAfee said on College Gameday that the refs told him before the game that people aren’t watching the game for them to throw flags… and they maintained that approach most of the game.

Refs were awesome last night. 2 penalties (both on OSU) for 15 yards, amazing. I can't believe we went a game without committing a penalty after what we saw in October/November lol.

I really only noticed maybe 2 or 3 calls (PI on OSU, Bain wasnt really held, etc.) that they should have called but would rather them eat the flag if it's close. Was refreshing to watch.

That hold was on their guard against tour DT watch the replay. I don't know what the refs actually said when he called it but the hook was inside, it was blatant , and it saved Sayin a headache.

I think he was implying the tobacco road mafia is the reason the refs **** us at every turn

It as well officiated IMO, both teams caught a couple of breaks, none of which had a major effect on the game.

If he was that makes no sense, since the chances of us playing a Tobacco Road school in the playoffs is almost 0.

For proof, look at how the last couple regular season games were called. I recall everyone on game day thread against Pitt very surprised and saying “geez I wish we always had these refs”. Point being, the conference has huge incentives for a team to make a deep run.

But I do prefer less calls.

I don't presume that the ACC conference leadership has any compelling desire to change the tilted field that the refs impose upon Miami every time they suit up to play.

Smith got away with OPI quite a bit on Frédérique, direct shot to the face on one play in particular.

McAfee just said on Gameday he asked the refs last night before the game how do you guys usually call it. He said the head ref told him they didnt come here to see us.

Wish someone told that to the ACC gestapo .. who are giddy over their replay crew getting TV time.. bunch of clowns. We need to get out...

And that’s the beauty of postseason in football, we never have to deal with ACC refs! And that is a great thing for us!

OSU benefitted more from the non-calls - Smith pushing off and the DBs being real handsy, etc but I do appreciate the refs at least being consistent in letting both teams play. The only time ACC refs swallow their whistles is when opposing OLs are holding our DL.

Go back a rewatch the Pitt game and tell me calls weren’t going our way.

they may hate us when we play duke, NC, etc. but as their only representative in the cfp, and the only team earning the acc revenue this post season, to assume they would try and tilt games in the cfp against us, in favor of a non conference opponent, is not only asinine, it is a glaring example of the Miami fan persecution complex stereotype.
