hate to bust the Rutgers bubble

I don't even care, as long as golden is gone.
The BOT/ Administration will botch the next HC hire so it might as well be him so we can fly more banners with a new name on it

This Administration is so clueless that the banner crew might as well start a savings account . That way it can be building interest for a banner for the next bad hire.

I have also heard Schiano is the favorite per an Alum with deep pockets. He just said that they don't think Al is worth a **** and Schiano is the name a lot of the alumni have been buzzing about. This was right before the season started. He doesn't claim to be in the know or have inside information but he's a very wealthy man and knows a lot of the very wealthy big hitters.

It always makes me laugh when someone posts some he said/she said BS and then someone like MisCane says something similar afterwards. You are def more credible than the OP.

Unless they make him AD and HC, I'm not sure they can get him back.

And I'm guessing he would prefer the Miami job to Ruthers, if he had the option.

He did have that option and he chose rutgers

I get you point, but that was different.

He chose to stay at Rutgers, instead of leaving there and coming to Miami.

This situation is not the same.

But it would be telling if an unemployed coach viewed the Rutgers job as better than the Miami job, IMO ...

Please stop with the Cristobal talk. When you say that as fact, I know you are just guessing. Who knows if it's true, but I have heard he would not be at the top of a few key players list among the coaches who have been here, Schiano, Stoops, Chud, etc.

Read this thread with DIRECT QUOTES from recruits about wanting to play for Cristobal.

Also here is a video from 2016 WR Keshawn Pie Young (who is the #2 player in Dade County by the way) wanting to play for Cristobal. So if Cristobal becomes the head coach at Miami you don't thank that put UM in prime position to land Pie Young. Considering he has all but moved on from considering Miami.

By "key players" I don't mean Pie Young, I mean the AD and Trustees/boosters. Do you really think this group or any group at any school hires a coach because of what a few recruits say?

3FW College football is more so about the Jimmy's & the Joe's rather than the X's and O's.

Building a program in south Florida you better have someone in place as the Head Coach at Miami that understands and can relate to the south Florida Jimmy's and Joe's. This was one of the both Howard schnellenberger and Jimmy Johnson's best traits. Jimmy said has been quoted MANY times talking about how the players new he understood their struggles because Jimmy grew up dirt poor like many kids in the hood. So he was not shocked at their homes when he went to visit. An Howard went into liberty City during the riots in the 80's brandishing his hood pass.

If the administration truly understands where Miami has and will always get their players from then the Admininstration will hire someone accordingly that can reach these kids down here.

Go Canes

Yeah. Let's hire Crystalball just to get Pie Young. Just like everyone wanted to play for Butch Jones at UT. Now that he's proving to be a loser watch what starts to happen there.

You recruiting guys are whack jobs. Win at UM, or hire a guy who gives you the hope of winning at UM, and you will clean up in recruiting. It's a simple formula down here.

Probably the best post I've ever seen from you.

Here is logic as it pertains to the BOT (Purely speculative, but nonetheless you can see the connection)...

Mario is a "South Florida Guy" who knows the area and can recruit based off history with UM/FIU Head Coach/Experience with saban.

He has a connection with Coley, which is good for Kayaa as it pertains to continuity from a learning offensive perspective ect.

Mario seems like the obvious choice, unfortunately. It could be worse.

Y'all dudes are CRAZY!

No way they hire Mario Cristobal!

He was fired by FIU ... By FIU!

Miami will NOT hire a HC who was fired by FIU!

Who cares about keeping Coley?!?!?

Who cares about keeping "continuity" with a player who's not on ANYBODY'S list as the best college QB in the land?!?!?

Have some objectivity! Have some perspective of the big picture!

Cristobal might be a short term fix ... Like John L. Smith was for Arkansas after the Petrino motorcycle situation. But there is no way, IMO, he gets consideration for the Miami job!

But if he's smart, he'll campaign as hard as possible for the gigs Fuente and/or Herman leave behind after this season. Those teams will be ready-made to compete!

Hiring Mario would be the kill shot to the program. He's a Cuban Al. He even wears the lame tie.

How about we hire a guy who who can actually coach, I know it's crazy.

Lol kids understand money. If you can get them to the NFL and win championships. That's all that matters. You don't need someone that understands them just someone that can win.

This. It will be the final nail in the program's coffin and I wouldn't be surprised by it in the least bit

It is crazy. Slowly step back from the edge. Go with the flavor-corch of the day.

They may want him, but does he want them? Why is he going to go back? There's a ceiling at Rutgers and reached it already.
