ANSWER ME MEMNON haha
To answer the OP, yes he's given up catches this season.

But to add context, he's played well within the confines of the system.

He's played all season at Left, which has mostly been the Boundary side, so he's not really been tasked with taking on the best WR matchups. He gets the short yardage comeback/curl routes & has done a good job keeping everything in front of him.

They also mainly play him in Off-Coverage catch-tech, which is basically a technique that's designed to neutralize line releases by giving 6-8yds of cushion & instead of playing Press Man, you allow the WR to run his stem to you & then you play coverage on the backend. So essentially you let the WR do whatever release he's going to use at the line & wait at the top of the stem before you initiate contact; you "catch" him into your coverage.

He's also rotating with Ethan O'Connor quite a bit.

Correct me if I’m wrong but this was basically the role Porter was in a couple years ago? And then he struggled when being asked to handle Nickel duties? OJ a similar role last year? Now he’s more the main guy (and playing really well imo)

I know **** all about playing DB and what Guidry/Heatherman do but we have a role that gets protected it seems and gives some nice shiny PFF grades

Always felt that off coverage was begging for those dink and dunk passes that killed us under Golden. But it seems to be working here.
