Has Xavier Lucas given up a pass yet?

So essentially you let the WR do whatever release he's going to use at the line & wait at the top of the stem before you initiate contact; you "catch" him into your coverage.

He's also rotating with Ethan O'Connor quite a bit.

Was at the game and have yet to see the hold on Bain --but you have to see the hold that was not called on TXAM on the last play of the ND game. The ND Dlineman basically was tackled and it clearly cost ND the game. Crazy No-Call !

It's worked because we haven't really played any good QB's yet.

I saw that live and couldn't believe they didnt call it on the most critical play of the game....Miami olineman would've been ejected if we did that

Not really.

Off coverage is schematic insurance; they're playing him in that technique to protect the Defense, while Rome plays the majority of his snaps on an Island with no Safety help in Man.

It also allows for more versatility in the rush fronts. You don't see our LB's Blitzing as much this year because the front 4 are getting to the pocket more.

But again, that's all mainly predicated on the fact we haven't really played any good QB's yet, so it's subject to change depending on the matchup.

Any chance of the post game write ups this season? They are always a highlight of the site, though I am sure time intensive.

I know **** all about playing DB and what Guidry/Heatherman do but we have a role that gets protected it seems and gives some nice shiny PFF grades

To an extent, yes.

DPorter Jr played Boundary in 23 the year we brought in Jaden Davis's bum *** & then last year was moved to Nickel, where he struggled immensely.

OJ played a mix of both Left & Right last year, but his best games were at Field.

This year he’s the Field/Right Corner & has been tasked with covering the best WR. He's played the most Man coverage snaps of all the CB's & is mainly on an island by himself. He rarely has overtop help. The Safeties have been rotating to the Boundary side & are usually in bracket coverages with the Nickel.
