Hartley needs to wake up

It's his unit, no?

I remember when we used to play the , "it's the players not the coaches" card.

There are other aspects of our special teams that worry me about Hartley.

It’s Mark Richt’s fault that Malik threw two picks...he obviously made the decisions. That’s same thing you just said.

On the special teams part, most of our woes is our depth....it’s atrocious. Yea we’re talented but special teams are usually 3rd team guys and I don’t know if you’ve noticed but this roster is very top heavy with a couple of significant injuries.

Depth is an issue for sure. But that had nothing to do with 3 plays I called out. Those were mental/poor decision/poor game management.

2/3 of them were because of lack of focus and were on the players....other than the two #4 which btw is his assistant’s fault because he’s the one who does the sub, Hartley calls the play, is all the fault of the player.

McCloud should have never been put in that position. Play was screwed from the beginning because of a poor tactical call.

Feagles has been a liability all year and has not progressed. That's on Hartley.

So it’s Hartley’s fault he ran into the kicker because of the play he called?

It’s Mark Richt’s fault for calling plays that led to 2 INTS...he obviously forced Rosier’s hand. Same **** but with different people.

So it’s his fault that Herndon threw a lackluster block?

You are literally going out of your way to place the blame on anyone but him. lol @ his assistant.

It's his fvckin unit man. Everything we do on ST's, whether good or bad, is on him. Welcome to sports.

Is it Mark Richt’s fault that Rosier threw 2 INTs...yes or no?

So that means he gets credit for the fumble....right? Not to mention the recovery on the inside kick....right?

Shhhhhh! You’re ruining their argument.

As a coach I love his recruiting and his passion. But we nearly lost this game because of him.

1. Blocked punt on a play where defense was not trying to block. The little things man. Clean it up.

2. He calls a punt block on 4th and 2? Dumb dumb call in that situation.

3. Two #4 in the field. That is squarely on the coach. Fortunately it was not 4th and less then 5. Had it been that would be two first downs handed to Virgina on same drive.

Stupid things like that and you don't win against Clemson, period. Clean it up man.

Clemson will be an easier win than UVa. Not worried.

Ok you win. Canes special teams have been superb all year. Nothing to see here. Diaz only wishes he could coach them up like Hartley.

I guess we could hire our last Special Teams Coach:

You mother ****as so dense. If you fools can't see how abysmal special teams are ..

This is some of the worst teams play I've seen in in 15 years. We routinely walk past tacklers on return coverage. We routinely run into kickers on 4th down. We routinely shank punts. How times does the offense or defense make a game changing play to only be followed up by a special teams blunder? Every game! Score the go ahead touchdown ... kick out of bounds. Get our asses kicked coming out of halftime.... punt blocked. Hartleys unit constantly exacerbates whats goin on. His unit is trash.

As others have stated......some of the problems on special teams can PROBABLY be pinpointed back to our depth issues. Once those are fixed, it's safe to say they will improve.

I'm conceding the unit hasn't looked spectacular.

Rest assured Richt will address this in off season. Hartley has plenty of depth to atleast be equal to the opponent.

No, your argument sucks and your points suck...

You didn’t mention that we’re 120th in special teams efficiency, 107th in kick Return yardage(not defending, just returning), and 90th in Punting. Wanna know how much position play matters on special teams? We’re 26th in Punt return...and we all know who returns punts.

No he doesn’t. 60% of them start or play significant snaps.

Dude you are literally the only person in this site defending Hartley. Get a clue.

I’m “defending” Hartley? How about I’m not going to blame him for **** out of his control? Our overall kick return and unit blocking is horrendous, that’s a fact. We’re hot and cold on coverage, that’s a fact.

Don’t get mad that you used opinionated bull**** to try and create a point based on plays, you didn’t even bother to look these stats up, and I had to spoon feed it to you. If you’re going to create a thread talking actual football then do the research and come in with facts instead of opinionations of how you think we play.
