Hartley needs to wake up

Shhhhhh! You’re ruining their argument.

Ok you win. Canes special teams have been superb all year. Nothing to see here. Diaz only wishes he could coach them up like Hartley.

No, your argument sucks and your points suck...

You didn’t mention that we’re 120th in special teams efficiency, 107th in kick Return yardage(not defending, just returning), and 90th in Punting. Wanna know how much position play matters on special teams? We’re 26th in Punt return...and we all know who returns punts.

Dude you are literally the only person in this site defending Hartley. Get a clue.

I’m “defending” Hartley? How about I’m not going to blame him for **** out of his control? Our overall kick coverage and unit blocking is horrendous, that’s a fact. We’re hit and cold on coverage, that’s a fact.

Don’t get mad that you used opinionated bull**** to try and create a point based on plays, you didn’t even bother to look these stats up, and I had to spoon feed it to you....if you’re going to create a thread talking actual football then do the research and come in with facts instead of opinionations of how you think we play.

So you agree to agree. Good let's move on with life.

We also had to call a timeout before an extra point because we only had 10 on field I believe.

This was after Jj's pick 6

Yeah it falls on him but Herndon is to blame for that missed block

And McCloud consistently does dumb things that cost us like running into the kicker

McCloud needs to get it together so frustrating this season

So it’s his fault that Herndon threw a lackluster block?

It's his unit, no?

I remember when we used to play the , "it's the players not the coaches" card.

There are other aspects of our special teams that worry me about Hartley.

It’s Mark Richt’s fault that Malik threw two picks...he obviously made the decisions. That’s same thing you just said.

On the special teams part, most of our woes is our depth....it’s atrocious. Yea we’re talented but special teams are usually 3rd team guys and I don’t know if you’ve noticed but this roster is very top heavy with a couple of significant injuries.

It's coaching if it continues to happen.

Demetrius Jackson was one of our punt protectors and has been replaced by Chad Thomas. They have switched sides at times this year. I've posted about it on the film review. Low key concern after the injury to D Jax. I know it was Herndon who missed the block, but any time that stuff is messed up it just causes issues.

The #4 stuff was probably because Berrios couldn't go for some reason. I'm not certain, but that's my guess. My guess is Thomas ran out there late and Jaquan was already on. That's a coaching issue without a doubt, just pointing out how that can happen.

Nothing wrong with calling for a punt block in that situation, especially since you know it's going to be a fair catch there. The problem is McCloud played it really poorly. His angle was way off and he came in out-of-control. I wouldn't really ever call for the punt block because of the risk/reward, but when you have a returner who fair catches as often as Berrios does, you might as well go for the punt block as long as your players aren't making big mistakes like that.

Worst game of the year for McCloud.

Players make mistakes, coaches need to "coach" and fix mistakes so they don't continue to happen as the season progresses. We are 90% through the season and the players are making the same mistakes. So there is definitely room for improvement in our SC coaching.
