Harley officially starting at WR.

I will admit that I was hard on the kid when he was playing the WVU commitment games (as were alot of us), but **** was I wrong.

It's not just this kid's speed that separates him, it's his mental make up. I remember Pete was saying he and Bandy would go to the campus and practice after signing day.

This kid lives, eat, and breathes the game. We're lucky to have him.

Hopefully this is the last year freshman can easily come in and start. We should hopefully be at a point next season that unless the freshmen were once in a life time players they are contributors than starters carrying the load.

happens everywhere, even on stacked teams that have been recruiting for years like we will be now with richt

but, i agree its definitely been happening at a much higher rate than ideal the last couple years.

Seems like we are close to where our two deep is just as good as the starter.

Have to love Harley's refusal to come in here and take a back seat to anybody, regardless of their background. Let's ride.

is this it?

QB Rosier / Shirreffs

RB Walton / Homer

WR Berrios / Thomas

WR Cager / Mullins

WR Harley / Dallas

TE Herndon / Irvin

LT McDermott / Herbert

LG Darling / Mahoney

C Gauthier / Gaynor

RG Donaldson / Jones

RT St. Louis / Brown

I believe that Dayall Harris will see the field before Mullins. He got a lot of reps last season IIRC.

You are outstanding in your field.

The first two games are basically preseason games. If I see him starting against FSU, then he will have mad respect from me. A true freshman coming in and balling out.

then you're gonna love this:

DE Jackson / Harris / Garvin

DT McIntosh / Bethel / Johnson

DT Norton / Moten / Ford

DE Thomas / D. Jackson / Patchan

LB McCloud / Perry / Wilder

LB Quarterman / Owens / Jennings

LB Pinckney / Smith / McCray

CB Delaney / Bandy

SS Johnson / Carter / Finley

FS Redwine / Knowles / Smith

CB Jackson / Young / Dean

Anybody else find it terrifying that Jahir Jones is on 2nd team? The video of Quan tossing him always goes through my head when I see his name.

Agree with everything except that Smith is 1st team and Pinckney is 2nd team (obviously just for the first game).

The best news is Cager. Huge potential. Kid has the usual out of state bias against him. I think everyone understands what Harley and Thomas give us, but Cager makes the group elite and deep. I'd have to say the last time we had a mix like this was 2002. This group may actually be more talented at this level.

Harley being a relentless worker and good route runner as a true Frosh only helps the development of Thomas. From all accounts he's going to play as well but Harley seems to be a step ahead on the learning curve. These two will push each other for greatness.

What were you wrong about? He was acting like a shytbag trash talking UM and saying his dream was to play for UF. He's always had ability.

I'm not sure I agree.

We all saw a freshman do amazing things last year at receiver - Richards lit up the field - and I'd argue - made a couple plays that lit up the rest of our team.

If we're recruiting top talent - and that talent works their butts off and are performing - what a sales point to maintain top recruits that want to play or at least have a chance to play as freshmen - IF they earn that opportunity.

You're 100 % correct about his behavior.

I should've clarified I was wrong about his ability. I wrote him going to WVU as not a big loss for us.

Harris and Mullins might get left in the dust if they don't step up their game.

I think the other guys are just flat out better.

LOL Mullins hasn't even played meaningful snaps yet. Don't know how you clowns draw these conclusions that Mullins is going to be "left in the dust". F-ucking simpletons.

Richt said. “Harley and [Dionte] Mullins both of those kids will play a good bit if Ahmmon is out."

If Mullins was better than Harley he'd be starting over Harley in the absence of AR.

Can't leave Langham out of the conversation here either.

Ehhh...I always thought maybe they should give Langham a shot at TE, but there's a reason why. I don't like to down a kid but it seems like he's been here forever but haven't done anything yet, so I while I hope that he does contribute before his UM career is over I wont hold my breathe.

FWIW: Richt said he's starting the opener....that's it, nothing about being a permanent starter. Still impressive for a kid got there like a month and a half ago.
