Per the other site, Mike Harley has earned a starting spot at WR. At first glance, I assumed it was because Richards is being held out the first game. My assumption was wrong. Richt said that Harley would start even if Richards was playing in the game. Cager is actually the X receiver, starting in Richards absence.

Harley is the starting Flanker. Congrats to Harley!!

Really happy for Mike Harley and for his family. I hope he has a great game starting as a true freshman.

Did anyone hear Richt on QAM this morning? I wasn't able to listen.

**** now that's a pleasant surprise. I figured Harley would need some time but man, congrats to the kid! That can only mean good things for our team. When healthy, wouldn't be surprised to see Jeff Thomas take another spot.

Richards, Harley, Thomas as our base 3 WR set - good luck ACC.

This is beyond excellent news. The fact that Cager is back 100% and yet Harley stilled earned a starting spot, shows what type of playmakers we have on this team.

Think about it, Cager and Thomas are on the second team. Lights out!!!

Excited to watch Harley work over some out-classed athletes. Actual quote was “Normally, if Ahmmon [Richards] is healthy he’s X and Cager would be flanker,’’ Richt said. “Harley and [Dionte] Mullins both of those kids will play a good bit if Ahmmon is out.’’ Harley would have come off the bench had Richards been healthy, but he's still WAY ahead of where I figured he would be given his stick-like frame.

Hopefully this is the last year freshman can easily come in and start. We should hopefully be at a point next season that unless the freshmen were once in a life time players they are contributors than starters carrying the load.

happens everywhere, even on stacked teams that have been recruiting for years like we will be now with richt

but, i agree its definitely been happening at a much higher rate than ideal the last couple years.

I wonder what would've happened if we lost that bowl game to WVU. Would Harley have stayed committed to them?

Regardless this is great news. WR position is getting stronger and deeper.

Once Richards is healthy, it's Cager, Berrior, and Richards according to derp Susana

For how long I wonder? On our best teams, young guys step up and then refuse to come off the field. I have a feeling somebody's minutes are gonna be lessened over the course of the season.

For the whole season. Those guys are gonna start, all season. Thomas and Harley and Mullins will play, but, those are your starters, barring injury.

A speedy South Florida Frosh WR talent is going to start and get tons of playing time.

Colored me not surprised.
About time it happened for us.
Seems like it happens all the time for other major programs.

Happened last year with Richards didn't it?
