Hang in There…

I agree with most of what you said.

I’m not hating on Gattis or The WRs until I get more evidence.

When a more accurate QB came in all of a sudden they started getting open and remembered how to catch again.

——

Now yes, they didn’t do TVD any favors. And if he is your guy you gotta try to coach around his limitations.

but only one of these things can be true…if TVD truely is a 1st round NFL talent…he should be expected to perform well in a pro style offense.

If he cannot then; he is not and never truely was 1st round caliber.
——

Now regarding the 4th and 5th year players…they are at the wrong school. Many of them so limited physically it really doesn’t matter what you ask them to do.

They should have spent their careers at G5 schools getting coached that they are an underdog and have to give 110% just to be decent.

Instead they were coddled and told they were world beaters cuz they wear the U on their helmet.

So when you blend, a poor mental make up, lack of effort and physical limitations it’s how you like a little dude run by you 3 times and a G5 DL dominate you on the interior.

——

For the coaches…4 games on tape this year.

It’s time to address what you can with this roster, self scout and do what you can to make this team successful.

Gattis is clearly a problem. You can see it from a mile way.

And while It’s not his fault when TVD misses a wide open receiver, someone drops a critical pass, or we fumble the ball, it’s all accentuated by how awkward we look on offense. Nothing is easy. We have to fight like crazy to pick up every first down. It shouldn’t be this difficult, especially when you see teams with less doing more.

UM has been destined to run the spread offense since it was created, but for some reason, we keep avoiding it like the plague. It’s the best system for the athletes we recruit and Mario should be able to see that by now. How he handles this going forward will be interesting.

Agree completely. Gattis needs to go immediately.

JJ got rid of Tom O.
Butch sent Bill Miller packing.
Even Manny fired Rainman and got Lashlee

Al Gluten held on to Dorito and paid the price!!

Which will it be, Mario???

I absolutely agree with you and here’s why: It hit me like a ton of bricks last night when I was watching the FSU game. For all the people bashing Mario this morning, I want you to think back at where FSU was during Norvell’s first two years. He was awful, terrible, and they wanted to run him out of town. At one point he had a worse record than Willie, but they stuck with him and he cleaned house, instilled culture and confidence, brought a bunch of new players in, and now look at them. I just feel you have to give a coach at least 3 years before you truly know.

There is a lack of mental toughness within this teams. It’s been that way for quite awhile When things go bad, they snowball so fast. I said this in another post, I have never seen a program let a loss implode a program like this program for the last few years. Just think about how this week went after the TAMU loss.

There is some sort of deep rooted culture problem within this program. The staff definitely didn’t help matters this week but we need to flip this roster over (not only for talent but for the locker room). This is not my way of not blaming the staff but it’s their job to identify it and remove it quickly. It’s hard coaching X and O’s when you have to deal with all the other BS.

The timeline is much shorter in this era of NILs and portals.... you keep ******** up through catastrophic losses and zero team motivation, it affects recruiting and transfers...
Coaches don't have 3 years to bring in their players and develop them... some of them are being paid more than NFL assistants

My thoughts exactly. If FSU can, seemingly, pull out of that then so can we.
It’s gonna be an ugly season that’s pretty much guaranteed, but in the famous words of Richard Gere in an Officer and a Gentleman “I got nowhere else to go!”

Na people are ready to run the guy who's been to the Rose Bowl and Fiesta Bowl out of town already.

Another excellent point. I’ve said the same thing for years now, we have to shift our priorities away for stars and recruit grinders, kids that have worked for years to get a little recognition.
The harsh reality is we’re more like Wake Forest than Alabama and that’s not changing anytime soon. Key is you have to be able to develop them and I’d like to think with guys like Steele & Strong on staff that can happen.

Mario has said it since he got here. There’s no slogans and teams aren’t going to roll over because Miami should beat a team. Year after year I see a bunch of divas and me players. There’s zero fire game in every game. “Don’t be a fan later” doesn’t work if you continue to crap the bed.

He’ll be 4-3 in a month fwiw

1st down-run up the middle for no gain, 2nd down-run up the middle for no gain. 3rd and long- dropped or receiver has no chance to catch the ball. That's our f-ing offense. Defense? Steele? Strong? Reed? NO ONE on that staff could coach enough to NOT ALLOW deep passes? I mean, 3-4 plays to the house including a 98 yearder when we had them pinned at the 2?

Nah, you bring Jake in much earlier than that, and Miami wins the game. That change should have been made in the early 2nd quarter.

The quarterback is the leader of the team. Did you see his body language? He was done, and it was obvious. There was no urgency from Mario. None. The whole stadium was booing that kid and the rest of the team was dead like him.

I’ve tried to write this recap 10 times, but it’s so hard to find the right words, so here goes my best shot:

I was never on the Mario bandwagon. I was probably one of his most ardent critics while he was at Oregon. I said, countlessly, we could do better. With that said, you can’t turn on the man yet. I have no idea if he’ll get this fixed, but he deserves time to see this though. As much as this loss hurts us, I know it hurts him more. It’s time to see if that ends up mattering the next time we line up to play.

My main question for Gattis is, “where the **** are the screens?” Have we run a single screen to the RB all year? MTSU was blitzing like crazy all night and we never took advantage of it. I understand he was dealt a bad hand with these WRs, but that’s also HIS room. He needs to earn his paycheck and get the most that he can out of them. But overall, this offense is simply not a fit for our personnel. We had finally left the Dark Ages when we hired Lashlee, and now we’re back in them.

TVD has been horrible. It’s as simple as that. And I’m not sure what bothers me more: his poor play or demeanor. No fire, no passion, and no confidence. Gattis hasn’t done him any favors, but wow, he’s nowhere near the same player he was last year. Jake didn’t light the world on fire when he entered the game, but for the first time all night, I actually believed we could win with him at the helm. If our defense didn’t completely fall apart, I really think he would have led us to an ugly victory. There should be a competition in practice the next two weeks, but I’ll be honest: if Jake doesn’t get the nod, I’ll be disappointed. I have zero faith in TVD at this point.

The defense….woah. I don’t even know what to say. Our corners got cooked all night and we couldn’t get pressure up front. Tackling was an issue, too. I thought Steele and crew had a really bad day.

Okay, now that I vented, I want you all to trust me and walk away from the ledge. This was one of the worst Canes losses ever, but I’m hoping Mario uses this as a learning experience. His eyes should be wide open about the regression of TVD and how **** this offense has been. And I’m sure he recognizes the need to revamp this team in more ways than one. Just give him a chance.

The reality is…this is CFB. Sometimes, the results don’t add up. I just watched Kansas State beat OU on the road after scoring 10 points and losing to Tulane last week. We still have a lot to play for and we have to do whatever it takes to preserve this recruiting class. We have to try our best to support this team, as much as it pains you all. They need us in 2 weeks for UNC. Enjoy the off week and hang in there. Everyone on this board is not alone. I refuse to believe UM football can’t — at the very least — become competitive in the years to come with all the financial support being dumped into the program. Don’t take the easy way out and quit, like many of your peers. Much love!
I think we're going to be fine. It's still way too early to throw in the towel, as it seems many are ready to do.

Watching Garcia run the offense should be clear enough that the offense isn't the whole issue, that's clearly execution.

Our oline was not good last year, not good. We are a lot better this year, but also clearly not where we need to be.

I have no clue what the **** happened to the defense.

I noticed too about Mario. Very odd. And something seemed to be up with TVD and the team. Garcia comes in and there is a spark.

Me too, bro.

So much so…that I had to find another rope.
If i hadn't witnessed our amazing years i'd think it was totally made up. Its ***cing 20 years of this **** now. Watching this not change at all. I don't know how i keep coming back at this point just to be disappointed over and over.
