Had They Not Created Week O....

Well if you've been surfing as long as you say you would know in FL we judge the waves by the face not the back. So YES 6-8 ft. has happened many times at S. Beach and I have the pics to prove it. I've been surfing in S. FL for 38 years so I think I know what I'm talking about.

That's a nice peak....The right looks a little bit like First Peak at Sebastian....same thing though, 6 foot drop (Cali/Hawaii Scale 4-5 ft), but there is no wall...

Also looks like North Bird Rock in La Jolla, close to where I lived for a few years....Shallow reef, jacked up drop ins, but that was the whole ride....No walls...

Was that pic a cold front swell or a hurricane swell....?

Here...La Jolla Cove...back in the day....10 ft...how big would this be on the Florida Scale...?

And when I say all that South Beach is....is a 6 foot peak with a drop and not much more....here's what I am talking about when I am talking about an overhead to double overhead wall...also La Jolla Cove with Scripps and Blacks Beach in the background....

However, your pic was pretty good for South Beach.....Hope you get some waves from this storm....

That's a 15 foot face you posted. I got caught out at Del Rey beach during the 1991 Perfect Storm. It was 25 foot faces. No joke I literally **** my pants thinking how the F am I going to get in. I was severely under gunned on a 6'4 Kechle. I ended up taking a wash-up wave to the head and found my self almost on AIA. Some of the scariest waves I've ever seen. It sounded like a freight train when the wave would start breaking. My really close friend was at Reef Rd. and got sucked out to sea and had to be rescued by the Coast Guard. I've surfed many big days in Costa Rica but that day I felt I might die.

South Beach.....6-8 ft plus....lol...not in my 40 years of surfing have I seen it even close....6-8 foot plus South Beach is like 3 ft Haleiwa....Only thing I have ever seen close to real 6-8 foot plus was Pump House on the north side of the Reef Road Inlet in Palm Beach in 2012 during Hurricane Sandy and only because of the extreme north angle of the swell...

A lot more 2-3 foot windslop washing machine crap with 500 kooks out at Hangover Beach South Jetty than anything actually rideable in my extensive experience of "surfing" in South Florida.....
