I think they should make #26 be earned. Some teams have special numbers that players have to earn. Sean Taylor was a legend and I think they should only let a player who has earned it be able to wear it as an honor. Bubba Bolden should be rocking #26 with how he’s been playing this year and the passion and leadership he is showing. Just my 2 cents...Dude just hasn’t lived up to his “blue chip” expectations at all...
im still waiting for the dude to make an “impact” play
thoughts ?
btw changing his jersey # would be a start
He’s a good player. Not a great one. Bubba is a great player. Carter is mediocre and dumb. Hall is a good player. Makes good plays he’s just not the be all end all helicopter sabag hyped up savage. He’s still the second best safety on this teamHe’s a junior this year....sooooooooooo
He hasn’t lived up to the hype b/c this coaching staff having lived up to their hype.
There; I said it.
This post is the most CIS post ever. Almost half the list are freshmen and developmental credit given to a D'Nofrio coached player to come up with "question marks".
And of course Bolden and Colbert are completely omitted.
Carter and Jenkins were well on their way to fine careers at UPS before the coaching change. Now they play professionally. Romeo Finley changed positions and was a solid starter. Derek Smith transferred because Finley took his job. Bubba Bolden is probably the best player on the team currently but you left him off the list. I guess that one semester of coaching at USC is what made him great. Four guys you did list are true freshmen and only one has actually played.Since Banda arrived in 2016, the safety recruits have been:
Romeo Finley
Cedric Wright
Jeff James
Amari Carter
Derrick Smith
Gurvan Hall
Keontra Smith
Avantae Williams
Jalen Harrell
Brian Balom
Keshawn Washington
People will point to Jamal Carter, Rayshawn Jenkins, Jaquan Johnson and Sheldrick Redwine as their argument.
Let's remember, Carter and Jenkins played/developed 3 years with another coach. Did their tackles go in as seniors under Banda? Absolutely. Do safeties tend to make more tackles in Diaz's scheme? Absolutely. The PD, INT and Tackles for Loss didn't change much from their junior to senior years.....just tackles.
Jaquan and Redwine - I can agree both guys did develop well. Everyone since? Question marks.
I dont get this fanbase. One loss, (which we all circled on the schedule as a guaranteed loss pretty much) and they are ready to throw everyone overboard. Hall led the team in tackles last year and has been generally a very good player in the 17 games he’s played so far in college. There’s legitimate position gripes to have with this team but safety isn’t one of them. We’ve had better production there than pretty much every other position on the roster the last 5 years.
I didn't say he wasn't. I was taking issue with your statement "he was a solid 4 star recruit, nothing more than that." I don't put "4 star" and "nothing more than that" in the same breath. And, a 4 star recruit should get the fan base "lathered up."he was a solid 4 star recruit, nothing more than that. any hype beyond that comes solely from this fanbase lathering itself up like always. he was actually good last year for a sophomore in his first season as a starter... he had 3.5 TFL, 2 sacks, 3 PBU, 1 INT if we're counting impact plays. this year he has basically played three games. i know it's going to sound crazy but perhaps let's see how the rest of the season goes, he's barely halfway through his college eligibility.
I agree. Recruiting at lb and CB doesn't help. We can't leave the corners on an island. Speed and athletic liberal don't start. The DC, lb coach, OL and Wrs need to do or be better going forward. Hall is solid and our safeties have to do a lot in this defense. He hasn’t lived up to the hype b/c this coaching staff having lived up to their hype.

He's talking about you mateIt's a fascinating dynamic, watching them try to outdo each other's hyperbolic hot takes.
Where did I write 'watch the film"?Better a fan than a know nothing arm chair wannabe who actually writes "watch the film" in his posts.
You don't know **** doofus.
They keep playing Amari Carter over him. The starting safeties should be Hall and Bolden. Carter should be coming off the bench.
It's time the coaches made that move
