GT hires Geoff Collins

But is his face as punchable as Paul johnsons’s? With fedora being fired, the number of punchable faces in conference has dropped considerably
Don’t worry, as long as Richt is calling plays, he is plenty punchable.

What a beautiful man.

Is GT that much harder to get into than Duke and UNC? GT has higher acceptance rate than both.

Either way, I don't think anything will change in GT other than the offense they run. They'll be an average ACC school and maybe have a random year where they're above average.

Many coaches claim Geoff Collins is responsible for the best recruiting class signed to GT in recent memory. He was so highly thought of that Nick Saban hired him immediately. Since then, hes been a DC at FIU (under Cristobal), Miss St (under Dan Mullen), and Florida (under Muschamp when their defense was legit). Was recently HC at Temple where he went 7-1 in the AAC but did lose to FCS school Villanova.

Thoughts on the hire? I dont think they'll be any better or worse.
Great hire.

if He build it properly, he should be able to keep Southern kids from going to Northwestern, Vandy, Wake Forest, and Duke to play ball.

If he wins those battles, and can actually coach, he should be able to contend in the Coastal.

Richt doesn’t have the passion to have Miami become the monster it should be in the Coastal. So, decent coaches will always compete, IMO.

UNC/Duke blatantly cheat to get athletes in. GT isn't nearly as bad.

Stop. Admissions for football players at gt isn’t any harder than UM. If you can play ball, have qualifying test scores, and they feel you can you graduate with tutors and study hall, you’ll get in.

Actually, due to them requiring kids to take calculus across the board, they don't take as many risks. GT also gives out fewer exceptions for borderline kids, which thins out the pool even more.

Since we're talking about Georgia Tech. Does Paul Johnson watch today's Army Navy game and actually crack at least half a smile? One team runs the option and the other an option/wing T.

7-5 Pitt won the division. Who happen to be 7-6 now.

Ok, and everyone else in the division except 1 team is a bowl team. So you dont have any free wins in the division sans UNC.

Big-10 west and Pac-12 South is worse.
Even Duke went 3-5 in ACC play but beat the Big-10 west champion(who was 8-1 in conference play) by double digits (21-7).

There aren’t many fluff majors at GT since it barely has any liberal Arts programs. It’s not as hard to get into as Duke or even UNC, but getting through requires a different level of rigor.

Tutors help, but look at graduation and retention rates and you’ll see Tech lower than other ACC schools. Doesn’t mean Tech is necessarily better, just geared towards engineering/STEM careers.

Everybody in the college football world agrees the Coastal is at the bottom, but you. It's God awful.

I wouldn't be surprised if Richt manages to lose to a 1st year HC who's transitioning to a different offensive system next season
